"Someone stole my horse and forged my signature to breed from my horse. How do I get him back ?"

Well if you know where the horse is , you go and take him back obviously.
Although I suspect this will turn out to be something like the silly girl sold the horse too cheaply and changed her mind , or her parents sold the horse.

I wonder if the horse was actually stolen who would the foal legally go to?

Interesting point. As it's a male horse I suspect the foal would belong to the owner of the mare.


I'll eat my shoe if this story turns out to be as it's presented though.
If your horse really was stolen and you knew where he was , wouldn't you just go and get him back ?

I suppose in her situation I would go to the guards first so they’re aware so when you go to get your horse back they can’t ring the guards and say you stole your own horse
And they would have to give them the money they got for the stud fee maybe?
It is strange tho

Yeah , call the police and say there will be a breach of the peace while you collect your legal property.
The fact that the silly girl doesn't seem to do anything but whine on Facebook suggests it's not as it seems though.

Wanted: 15hh Riding Horse
Looking to buy my first horse. I have plenty of experience riding and being around horses, but haven't ridden in about 1 1/2 years due to yard closure. I'm looking for: 15hh+ (not bigger than 16.2hh), 8 years +, safe to hack alone and in company, safe and sane (preferred if done some schooling). Just something to have a bit of fun on and progress further. Within 40 miles from Lancashire. Cobs will be considered. No lumps, bumps, vices and to have been vetted recently.
My budget is small £1,500, but £2,500 max if tack's included. I'm starting from scratch so tack would be preferred and anything else you could offer to just starting out

There are quite a lot of similar adverts to that and ones asking for payment plans on a th group for horses under 1k!

Someone will offer them something for that price I’m sure. Whether it will suitable, or even sound is another matter entirely!
 
12.2-13.2 unicorn required - want adult, experienced, totally safe first pony that also goes on the lead, is completely perfect in all ways, currently in a family home etc etc etc - £3k budget. All ponies seen so far unsuitable. Pls only comment if have this unicorn in this budget.

So they don’t want to know that they need to spent more ££££ and are doomed to be endlessly disappointed?

So they want it 'to have been vetted recently', but if it has passed* a vetting with another potential purchaser then isn't it a red flag that they didn't go ahead and buy? And if it failed* the vetting then why would you want it? Or are they expecting the seller to pay for a vetting? So many questions...

*I do realise that vettings aren't as simple as 'pass' or 'fail', I'm just being lazy with typing!

Aside from the fact that a vetting is only a snapshot of the day it is done, so a horse that 'passed' a vetting say three weeks ago may now be cripplingly lame/have developed a sarcoid/poked an eye out/broken a leg etc.

They sound quite novicey/inexperienced from the advert though, and their expectations seem very far removed from the reality of horse buying in the current market.
 
There are horses who 'pass' - as in the vet will tick 'fit for purpose' on the form for insurance purposes, but raises other issues at the vetting - just for info. A small, inactive splint for example. But some buyers are extremely risk averse and walk away anyway. Hence you do see ads saying 'recently vetted' and the wanted ad buyer may be saying 'I'd be happy with that'.

But it's a long shot, really. Plus the seller probably wont have the vetting info anyway as the vetting is bought and paid for by the potential buyer. So it's always dodgy as the seller will not be able to prove the horse passed. Unless the buyer who walked agrees to hand the info over.

I had an infuriating situation once where a vet failed my pony and the buyer immediately treated me like a dodgy dealer and would not let the vet even disucss it with me. Vet was decidely unhelpul too and just said' this pony is not fit for purpose, I am advising her not to buy and you need your own vet to advise further' and left. As did the buyer. I called my own vet out the following day who could not find a thing wrong. So I called the next viewer, explained the situation and she came to view, had the horse vetted and she passed. Go figure. I'm still n tocuh with new owners and she has never had a day lame in her life. So who knows what that was all about.
 
OMG - dodgy dealer site question about rights.

Person buys filly (so presumably 3 or younger) described as well handled.
Turn filly out alone. Filly departs field and is a bit tricky to get hold of.
Person then puts filly in stable for 3 days. Easy day one but then turns a bit narky.

Filly obviously not fit for purpose as it’s not a rocking horse.

Some people ?

I was selling a pony some years ago and a vet admitted to me that he would probably never pass a horse for his client as they would immediately sue him if something went wrong later.

I see a lot of those ads for 18, 19 yo (“don’t be put off by his age, he doesn’t act it!”, “low mileage”, “still plenty in the tank!” - *eyeroll*), they’re bad enough, but 25? That’s geriatric for crying out loud…

As a hacking horse, something that's been there done that and is unflappable, that isn't a bad price, even if it has a touch of arthritis. Animals like that are worth their weight in gold. Of course if it is only suitable for field retirement it's pretty cheeky.
 
Saw one a few days ago, 12.2 welsh B sort of pony...the woman riding was at least 13-15 stone minimum, adult...was making the pony charge round fields and jump ? the comments were rightly terrible..."this is outrageous...that poor pony...you are far too big to be riding him..."!!! Funnily enough the post was either removed or they took it down when they saw the abuse! ?

Adverts like this make me so sad. There should be a law against selling an elderly animal that should have a restful retirement or PTS. I have a 21 year old and a 29 year old that I would never part with. Just sad.
