Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

FB has decided I'd like to see content from Mr 'yah yah' "horse trainer" guy (the one who wears all the pads) - I do not, in fact, want to see this so another account to try and hide off my feed.

Recent client testimonial with the obligatory pic of the horse standing up vertical. Then one of this poor little cob stood next to him looking really unhappy/like it is desperate to move away from him and then finally the success picture with the owner, where it looks like the horse has at some point gone down on it's knees and they're still kind of bloody. Given some of the other dramatic rodeo style pics he shares, including one of a horse going down on its side with him, I dread to think how that has happened. Also it's in the bit he' says he has designed which only comes in one size and apparently fits all horses.

I keep seeing these and it’s infuriating. That idiot shouldn’t be allowed within 20 yards of a horse.

ergh that vile man keeps popping up on my feed too. A horrible bully of both horses and humans. Sadly plenty of owners who will subscribe to a “quick fix” which keeps him in business.

How many of these 'training methods' are there?
I have recently seen a pair, m/f popping up who look like idiots but rate themselves very highly.
I haven't seen the absolutely dreadful padded up bloke for a while though. Hope nobody mentions his name as fb often feeds me unwanted stuff that's been discussed on here. Meta is definitely watching us 👀.

I competed at a venue recently where he sponsored one of the show jumps and I wondered if the algorithms had got me somehow from that o_O😂

Curiosity is getting the better of me and I am now wondering how I can find out the identity of the padded-up bloke without any explicit reference that will trigger the algorithm!

I am being bombarded with adverts for a particular brand of supplements though (shall we just say they market themselves as more natural than others)...it's driving me mad.

You think you've got problems. My FB feed has been full of period pants, whereas that ship sailed in 2020!

I have seen the padded man. I can't remember his name. I thought it interesting in that, although I don't like all that he does, I do think that sometimes inexperienced owners can put insufficient instructions and boundaries in place. Sometimes horses become confused, frightened and worried and fall into bad habits. The time when there would be a work rider in yards is deminishing. I like to see some trainers re-install boundaries and work what must look like a miracle.

Sadly, with the padded man, I'm not convinced that there is not actual pain. Quite the opposite in fact.

I could just show you this photo of the lovely pro wax surface at Aintree…. 🤔

Have now seen it. Miraculously he hasn't appeared on my feed but that could be about to change. Appalling stuff.

AAAAAAgh, I've just realised having popped over to padded man's fb page that the dreadful pair that are now infesting my feed are actually padded man (sans padding) and padded man's g/f. I didn't recognise him without the padding and it's her on the lame / pain face horses mostly now.

Yep, I got the same, including photos of them with their tongues out (why do people do that? It’s one of my pet hates). Perhaps they’ll become a Parelli-type couple, although it’s the last thing the horse world (& my FB feed) needs. Not that the Parelli story ended well, of course.

Someone wanting to part loan their 2 year old welsh, to have ‘help handling and breaking him in’, small contribution required. Open to under 18’s if parents are there?!

I was wondering how there were 2 of them 😅

RE: "Padding man" Under spoiler because it's so long but what the actual fudge does any of this mean? I suppose I agree that just hitting a horse doesn't solve any problems but cleansing the brain and keeping it clean is ????? This is word salad.

I am old school. Let me explain why?? I call the brain of a modern day horse C.M.R .
Cycle,Memory,Repeat. Think of a circle that just goes round and round. Then put a mark on the circle eat sleep natural things. Now put another mark bad to get on and another one bad to get in from the field. Bad to tack up then it repeats over and over adding more and more to the cycle of the brain. Then the horse is stuck in the bad cycle and called problem horse. Its why they do the same thing in the same place over and over. I train all my clients how to keep the cycle clean in the brain. There is no such thing as a bad horse they learn bad things and it sticks in the cycle and repeat's. It’s why I go mad when people smack or get angry at a modern day horse. one of the biggest problems in the horse industry is,soon as a horse does something wrong everyone to quick to get angry and blame the horse. People let there experience get in the way of the horse there sat on or infront of them. So many people are trying to follow what the Americans do with there horses? The Americans haven’t messed there breeding up as a bad as us so we’re not dealing with the same horse I am afraid. The reason I don’t do training videos is because every horse is different. The key to any horse is the eye. The eyes tell me everything. We have to respect how the horse is born and work with it. Smart ass/ baggage ect.

The minute you get angry, smack or tell a horse off is the second you have a backward thinking horse waiting for the next one. They can end up with what I call a brain block-backward eye. That means the horse is not thinking forward just backwards waiting to the next reaction from the rider and ends up a so called NAPPY horse. When you tell a horse off what ever way you choose they just don’t understand what they have done wrong and just nap more. They relate a fence or an object or an action to the telling off. I use my pressure exercises I invented to put the horse in the same scenario as beaning told off from the floor with out smacking the horse. If you also smack a horse the brain will wonder to get away from the rider and end up really spooky getting the horse in more trouble. The horse is now only going to make more and more mistakes. It’s the reason you never listen to human instincts when things go bad with a horse buy grabbing with two hands. One horse can lean on your hands to repeat what the horse has learned in the cycle of the brain and two if that horse has had a smack at some stage?? No matter the time? How do you smack a horse grab with two hands and the horse thinks he’s being told of again. A lot People obsessed With contact are a victim any time? that horse wants them off. The horse can lean on them hands to Elevate to Buck, Rear, bolt or what ever the horse chooses. You only need a contract doing a dressage move or Jumping a fence it’s what I’ve trained thousands of riders.

With a modern day horse It’s about connection on the floor and in the saddle,it takes less than five seconds to lose the connection /brain of a horse and once you lose the brain on a modern day horse it’s gone. I can Reconnect on the floor and bring it back , I train my clients to stay connected get the best out of there horse and how to keep the cycle of the brain clean.

When riding a modern day horse it’s about filling the brain with so many things what I call distraction to the brain. Once the control center what I call the mouth of a horse goes hard you have lost connection to the brain.Once you lose the connection to the brain of a horse they will be spooking at everything behind the leg and would notice a pound coin from ten meters away.

There is away to reset the cycle of the brain and keep the cycle clean. I always say let me reset your horse, I really mean reset the cycle of the brain. We all need to respect what us humans have created and look past what the horse is ment to be and start respecting what the modern day horse is really about, put the breeding back before there is no dealers left horses are to complicated to ride and no new beginners want to ride and the horse Job just fades away. The days you see the old lady hacking down the road on that old school horse there a dying breed. We need to put back the mess we all have created before we lose the real Traditional horse for good.

Wonder if anyone told them about riding schools? 😂

I don't think this one is so bad. We have a mum and girl at my yard who do 2 days per week with the little pony (not mine), and I'm sure it works out cheaper than a riding school, plus there aren't any I know of that will take a 3 year old. Plus you don't necessarily want riding school type lessons - a sit and a walk reasonably regularly is enough with a knowledgeable mum.

I wasn't thinking lessons - three places local to me all offer lead rein outside of arena sessions for littlies, which is perhaps why it's made me think it's a bit cheeky - 'hi, can I borrow a pony'...

I used to have a collective of mums with tinies who used to plonk them on the 2 mini shetlands. Both ponies loved the attention, gave them both something extra to do.
I gained the odd poo picking session, also payment in kind of cake or vino etc. Children were very small, usually under 3.
All came via friends of friends in RC. 2 mums became very good friends and now share the same horse, kids at school.
Another mum got her own section A when toddler got a bit tall for the mini's.
Worked out v well.

Nothing wrong with that, a common one, a friend I hadn't seen for years put up just an ad for her granddaughters when they were little so I offered our pony.
