Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

I don't think we have a thread for ridiculous instagram posts so I guess this goes here? The comments are very fun

Why do people want to look like a naked alien with blue skin? 🤣

I’m sorry but why must everything be skintight? Nobody needs to see this much of a person in public, surely?

If there’s a nude-coloured one I’m quitting life 😂

ETA: I’m 16, and feel absolutely no urge to wear such a silly thing

Gotta have a beige for competing though …

It came up on fb earlier so counts, I was scrolling so actually thought I must have seen it wrong and it was just matching baselayer …

(Poss worse than cycling bibs for going to the loo, I don’t think you can put drop seat panels on riding ones without chafing 😅)

I'd look like cottage cheese in a sock if I tried to wear that!

I wonder how much this has to do with the horse vs his name....

I don't understand. It seems to be for the leading rider, so should be about the rider and how they produce/present the horse? Or am I misunderstanding (showing not being my thing at all!).

Not sure what you mean?

I think in Dublin leading rider is rider with the best results from all classes added together

I had mid-read the title - my fault! I was thinking he'd won the championship for 4 years on the trot with different horses.

🌟Please can everyone share this post so we can find a perfect human for Manny🌟

We are on the hunt for a very special person for a very special horse.

Manny is a 4 year old tb, who unfortunately sustained a tendon injury in his last race, in July, meaning his racing career is now over. He has had 8 weeks of box rest and will require another couple of months box rest followed by a year being turned out in a field. He would make an ideal companion or a light hack once his rehab is complete.

Is there anyone out there who could offer him a home where he can complete his rehab and then be your light hack. He's a lovely boy who will give his owner lots of pleasure and endless love.

He is not a free horse so please don't expect to get him for nothing. The reason being is because we know free horses very often fall into the wrong hands and then get passed around which we won't allow to happen for Manny. However, he is priced fairly. Homes will be vetted and references will be required. And he won't be sold sight unseen.

Manny deserves to be given the best chance of a happy future with his own person. So please don't apply if you think you can get a cheap horse and then sell on. I'm being harsh but it's horses like Manny that are the most vulnerable when it comes to finding a new home.

Manny is still located on the racing yard in Lambourn.

Please message the page or whatsapp me if you would like to apply to be Mannys new Mum or Dad and I will vet applications before passing them onto his race trainer.

So buy a horse with a tendon injury to turn away for a year.
But don’t think you’re getting a cheap horse to sell on.
The problem is once he’s sold they’ve got no control on where he goes anyway.

Huh, so completely acknowledging how vulnerable this type of horse is to being sold to a bad situation on but we're doing it anyway?

Worse: buy a horse with a tendon injury to first box rest, rehab, and then turn away.

It's one thing to sell a horse with a historic tendon injury, but the fact they can't even be bothered to finish his rehab horrifies me. I suppose they need the stable empty so they can get an actually profitable horse in...

Agreed.

At the very least complete his box rest and make sure he is field sound, because he can at least then be a companion.

i am 18 years old and have been riding for ten years. i ride twice a week, sunday mornings and thursday evenings and help out at an equestrian centre.

i am looking for a seasoned horse (10-18 years of age) that can be schooled with no issues (bucking, spooking, etc), and enjoys going on hacks alone and in company. i would prefer if the horse has established ground manners and isn’t too immature while working on the ground. anything above 14.2 would be ideal as i am 5’3”. please message me if you have anything available as this is rather urgent! would prefer if the horse is kept at a yard in that area.

Removed place names

Urgently need a free horse that never puts a foot wrong
The word urgent puts me right off

Stubborn, stubborn, wilful…

Seven grand! 😳

That’s one of the most shockingly conformed horses I've ever seen, unless there's something seriously wrong with the photo?!

Oooh. These ones enrage me. It’s not so much that people try to flog their broken horses, people will people…

It’s when they then have the cheek to make out they’re holier than thou by grilling any potentials to the nth degree and being all stern and scary about How you will never be allowed to sell said horse on, or have anything less than Her Majesty’s Palace lined up.

Like get real! Anyone interested in horses like that is either a complete turd or experienced enough to know that the horse should be free or shot.
