I am guessing there is a genuine fear of repercussions here. Not least that you'd be kicked off the yard, maybe your own horses harmed. I can understand not knowing what to do if you are seemingly the only person out of 60 liveries who WANTS to do something. The culture on that yard must be disgusting.

Oh yes, I can absolutely understand all of that.

But I guess they've already outed themselves. Are there many 60 horse yards in the area?
 
Does anyone follow the well known cob dealer? What's with the constant screenshotting comments they don't agree with and resharing them, ridiculing the person who poster it and encouraging followers to pile on. Noticed they've also taken to responding to comments they don't like with "f**k off". Makes me cringe, so unprofessional looking.

I commented that I was shocked that it would have had taken her longer to write the post than pick up the phone and post anonymously. And no horse should be standing in so much shit that its head was touching the ceiling. The OP said she couldn’t as had mental health issues and was disabled ! And the yard owner would physically harm her horses. It all kicked off and I think it’s now been taken down. But someone must know where this place is ? Poor horse.

I’m starting to suspect that I know this place, or at least a very similar place, is part of it also run as an RS? They would definitely hurt your horses if you did something like pipe up about the situation.

I did report the place anonymously.

There’s a certain group that we all know of well buying up formerly reputable RSs and livery yards, then running them into the ground and taking all the profits for themselves.

I follow this dealer and used to enjoy seeing their posts about the cobs and how they were bringing them on.
Recently, though, this sort of arguing seems to have crossed a line and I don't find it funny.
When 'professionals' resort to telling others exactly what they can go and do with themselves, I feel that a line has been crossed.
The post in question was, I think, in response to someone saying that they didn't agree with the cobs being stabled for most of the week during the winter. (I don't actually know why people get into such discussions as it's very unlikely that people will change their systems in response to this sort of criticism). Responding - politely - by saying that the cobs are exercised daily, turned out at the weekends and are essentially on sales livery so only there for a limited time would have been enough. There's just no need to be so rude.

I've heard this type of thing referred to as 'roasting' and it seems that some people on FB get a lot of pleasure from it. Hmmm.
 
I’m on the fence with the cob dealer. It must be irritating dealing with shitty comments from strangers all day. When they first started replying and screenshotting I thought fair enough 🤷‍♀️ it seems to be daily now though and it’s getting boring. I follow them for horse videos, I don’t actually care about them arguing and trying to be funny.

I think they have realised that engaging with negative comments gets them lots of views and followers which helps them make money from the page.

It’s a shame because it will put a lot of people off buying from them and I think they actually are decent dealers.

I agree that they look like really decent dealers and it seems a nice set up - they clearly care about the horses and are committed to bringing them on.
And yes - some of the comments they get are utterly ridiculous and in their position I'd find it very irritating.
But once everyone resorts to nasty insults a line has been crossed. I noticed another account getting nasty comments from the public who just responded with 'thank you for your feedback'.

I agree 100%. I actually think that they have a good argument for stabling the horses for most of the week during the winter given the context. But I don't think there's any excuse for the vile language. It would seem that some of their followers disagree and think it's all hilarious, which is a pity as it's just fuelling poor behaviour all round.
 
I would not want to be a dealer. They must put up with so much nonsense. Selling a horse privately on the odd occasion is horrendous enough. However, if they are, it is their line of work and so professionalism is needed. I’d quite rightly get the sack if I responded to someone like that in work but then it seems this is becoming more common with small businesses in the horsey world and possibly in general too.

“rare opportunity” to rent a yard & full loan 1, possibly 2 horses…free stable included

3 stables, so you pay rent for the yard, all the costs for 2 horses, and the 3rd stable is “free”…gee, what a good deal?😂

poster is right in saying it’s not something you see often🤣

The trouble is not the £500 deposit or even the op, but all the care afterwards is very expensive. How are they going to afford 10-12k for it all?
