Only saw bits but Jonbon winning nicely albeit only 4 runner race. The cross country was a little chaotic. Unfortunately Michael Nolan went the wrong side of a running tail and off course after a cracking run on Tommy Beau then the eventual winner caught the corner of a rail which then pinged into the course. Not really the best design as a curved corner would have been better.

Jonbon was lovely, and I do have a soft spot for Edwardstone. Cross country was entertaining, I’d love to have a ride round that track! But that sticking corner was surely asking for trouble?

Terribly small fields again though. Four horse races are not going to bring the paying public in.

My daughter and son in law were there yesterday and I watched on tv. Shame about the small fields when it it said the going was good , good to soft . What do they all want, they don’t run when it’s wet either!
Loved Nico’s grey in the long distance chase, my goodness he jumps. Pleased Jonbon went well but sad Edwardstone wasn’t second to him. Think the first three will meet again in the Tingle Creek.
Sam T-W’s horse was very impressive in the hurdle race. Very enjoyable afternoon.

I watched it quickly last night. I am always pleased to see the Skeltons beaten, especially by Sam. He rode the race beautifully .
I was pleased Boothill ran so well, although I also love Edwardstone. Bryan Carver is an excellent jockey getting belated recognition, imo.
A very enjoyable day, I agree about the small fields.
I’m going Sunday.

Really nice to see Jonbon back in action yesterday, Boothill was staying on well at the end, I get the feeling he’s been a bit of a frustrating character!

I’m back at work today so will have to catch up tomorrow morning but hoping for a good run from the gorgeous grey L’Eau Du Sud in the 1:45 - I think his name reminds me of one Leslie Law’s eventers, Shear L’Eau??

Jasmine d’Airy could be an interesting runner in the mares bumper as well, it’s her first run over here in the UK but she’s got good form in Ireland and has joined Harry Derham’s yard now.

Enjoy Clodagh, my family are there again today but travelling back tomorrow.
I don’t really know Boothill or Bryan , obviously a gap in my knowledge.
Harry Fry is almost local, by West Country standards.
Bryan rides a lot for Chris Honour, hence me following him.

I wonder why Johnny Burke isn't riding Boothill now? Maybe they just wanted to change things around. Hopefully no more than that as he's a great guy and an underrated jockey. Even Ruby thought that was Johnny on him yesterday 😆

Oh that was horrible A Buffalo Soldier just ran a brilliant race, they interviewed the jockey and suddenly he collapsed, hopefully it'll be a case of getting water on him but looked to come out of nowhere

Bangers and Cash looked to suffer a heart attack or fatal injury mid race too

The winner jumped absolutely superbly real shock to see him go down

Horrific. I had a soft spot for him because of his name anyway, and he’d run a blinder today. Guessing it was his heart?

And poor Bangers and Cash too.

Desperately sad. Couldn’t believe it when he went down mid-interview, just as Sean Bowen was singing his praises.

Does anyone know what happened to Bangers and Cash?

B&C fell over on the flat, initial thought was a heart attack, but the statement itv read out said "fatal injury" but that could mean anything

And they both looked so well in the paddock
I just watched itv, gruesomely, as I saw on fb you could tell Buffalo Soldier was wrong. Tbh it was completely instant and he’d have known nothing. He was fine, ears pricked, a staggery step and down.
They shouldn’t parade them after though, they should be straight back in to be looked after.

If they are going to have a heart attack nothing will stop it happening. No one is to blame.

Totally sickening.

A 6, 7 and 8 year old all dead within the space of an hour. How can this be happening all the time???

RIP beautiful sweet horses 💔💔

It doesn’t happen all the time, having two horses die with a heart attack in the same race is incredibly unlucky.
I'm talking about the constant deaths on racecourses, not just heart attacks. 12 deaths so far this month, - we have another 17 days still to go. 14 deaths in October. Totally unacceptable in any other 'sport'.

I'm talking about Kelso and Uttoxeter both having two horses die on the same day during race meetings during last month. Warwick lost three horses in one day.

I'm talking about almost 3,000 horses losing their lives on British racecourses over a 17 year period.

I know horses have heart attacks, mine did the same sadly but that wasn't the point i was trying to make.

Something is inherently wrong somewhere.
