Cream can be nice on a chestnut. I have a gorgeus dark cream saddle cloth with brown cord edging for Amber. Though can't quite picture cream with yellow and red accents.

I toyed with the idea of getting the le Mieux citron for my chestnut, in avatar, however we stick to blues. Means I save money on not buying random colours ?

I think it depends on the shade of chestnut. If it is a pale chestnut then probably red, yellow would look nice on a dark auburn chestnut.
