Chestnut roan grooming

Hi, I may be about to take on a chestnut roan pony. I've never had a roan before. Are there any tips on looking after this coat and particularly on getting it into showing condition?

No different to any other colour unless you are talking about scars.

You won't get a shine on a roan coat, but you do get the joy of an ever changing coloured pony ?

You do get a shine on a roan coat, although mine is darkish buckskin roan. Be he shines like a new penny at times

I used to have a very shiny bay roan, her coat was silver at some times of the year!

My pink pony is not roan but the sabino flecking looks similar to the genetically uninitiated, and she definitely shines! the chestnut hairs have a slightly metalic sheen which really catches the sun in summer.
