Christmas present for farrier and vet - do you?

My Farrier likes Vodka so I always get him a bottle of the Absolute flavoured Vodka and it seems to be appreciated. I also round-up the amount I pay him, so if it's £72, I give him £80. Not much, but again, it's appreciated.

If I see the vet (which has unfortunately been the case the past few years) I give him a tin of Biscuits or Chocolates for everone to share in the office :)

Yes I do indeed. My farrier came this week and isn't back til after Crimbo and I hadn't realised and I hadn't got organised so it'll be on the late side this year. Oops :(

Usually just booze/extra money, nothing OTT

I always give my farrier a nice bottle of something, port, whiskey or wine usually, he appreciates it, he often goes the extra mile to help with an abscess or lost shoe the evening before a competition so I think it is worth keeping in his good books.

Vet nothing, I use several and other than taking a tin of biscuits to the office for them to share would not think it necessary to give anything, possibly would if they were dealing with something problematic over the xmas period.

I give the farrier a six pack of beer, bottle of wine or box of chocs usually. The vets I don't usually, but may give them chocs this year as they have been out nearly every month this summer. I like to think that a small token gift makes them smile and more likely to squeeze you in etc if need be.

I've been buying those meal deals on the motorway from Waitrose on and off all year, and you get a box of chocs with them, so I have a stockpile of them to give away as Xmas gifts!

We had a fab red wine on the aircraft last month called The Blacksmith. I thought about buying one of those for the farrier, but it was £20 so bit too expensive for a small token gift.

I will if I see either of them around Christmas. But I don't go out of my way to buy for them - as someone else said, they get plenty of my money as it is!

The vet nothing.

The farrier a bottle of scotch plus 4 pack of lager or cider for the lads. Nothing gets in the way of a farrier visit. Solicitors and accountants can wait!

Vet gets a card - love him to bits but don't like to see him apart from annual vaccination visit except when I bump into him at BE events!

Farrier gets a card and bottle of malt and apprentice(s) box of chocs as they always look that they need feeding up!

Welll........ we don't TBH get the vet here often enough (keep hoping!!!) to get all lovey dovey & Chrissmassy-kissy.

I've got my own horse plus a loan mare, each has a different farrier; so when the farrier makes his "before Christmas" visit (which will be soon) they each get a good'ish bottle of Whiskey each i.e. something like Bells not the supermarket knat's-P!ss, plus each of the "lads" gets a tray of tinnies.

We use two farriers and I buy them some drink.
The vet well yes I do because she's my BF and we spend Christmas day at my house but is she was just the vet no I don't think I would I pay them a fortune over the year .

usually get farrier something cause he always squeezes us in when needed before comps, but i feel my vet gets enough money already there present is the call out fee

Yes I usually get a bottle for the farrier as he usually comes between Xmas and the new year. Also he has to deal with taio through out the year and will always come out ASAP to replace shoes that taio has pulled off. He is a star. The vet not so much as they have 3 practices and whilst my vet usually comes to me I haven't seem him since the summer (quickly touches wood firmly)

Vet- no, no they are wonderful but have had enough of my money so far this year -grumble pony- . However farrier is fantastic and I always buy her a nice bottle of something.

never really crossed my mind to give the vet or the farrier anything.

Probably wouldnt for the vet as I dont see the same one all the time and only for routine things but then again, they are coming out on the 17th December hmm!

Might get the farrier a wee something though.

Nope

Although will be giving the farrier a present this year, But that's for thirty years of loyal service, a (good!) farrier is for life not just for Christmas ;)

Always get the farrier a decent bottle - Jack Daniels etc.

vets - not generally, but if I do go near the office for any reason I have dropped chocolates in.
