Yesterday I rode both horses, enjoyed it even though it was raining! We were both bedecked in waterproof yellow on both rides. Today Baby Horse and I did our longest ride out yet, first time over an hour. He is what I call a 'slow burner' as in, babyish, immature, not strong yet.

He felt a little over threshold when we went along a very spooky track, with a fancy horse bucking and farting right next to him, but he remembered his manners so all was good.

Today Rigs was mainly eating, he did his ride yesterday Ok, but would rather loaf on his patio TBH. He had a terrible moment, I took Baby Horse out, leaving him playing with his hay/football feeder. Only, he obviously tossed it right over the fence and out of his area. He was very cross when we got back ?

I suspect tomorrow will be the same, Baby Horse may return to a more familiar ride a time or two, just so he relaxes a bit, before striking out further afield again.

Hope everyone else ahs a great Christmas, and those with Covid recover well.

I’m still reeling from recent events, but determined to be as rational as I can about it. I still have plenty to be happy about and be thankful for.

Rooni has been arena eventing twice - fri and today. He was super duper, ever so pleased with him.

We also enjoyed a hack locally and I received the pictures back from his first ever photoshoot in Salcy last weekend.

I’d love to see you out eventing on him - he’s come on so much from the early jumping pics!

Didn’t have the best Xmas ride as the mule strayed onto a verge, hit a deep spot and came down on her knees on the road ?
Luckily she only has a tiny scuff on one knee and she didn’t seem perturbed.
Here she is checking out the very small people down the road 08D18DD8-1046-45C3-8914-AE9777E23945.jpeg

So, my fellow weekend planners may recall a few weeks back I had a road trip pencilled in amd promised info and pics if it happened.
Well, it didn't happen when it was planned, but had a last minute shuffle and went today instead.
I think this chap is going to come and live in Manchester soon

Omg I love him ? Beautiful

He's lovely RL. That canter looks very comfy!

Loved seeing everyone's festive pics and sending lots of good thoughts to those dealing with injury and illness (human or equine).

Had my parents here for Christmas so did absolutely nothing horsey other than a hack out the week before.

I've been hand walking the old girl who had laminitis back in the autumn, up and down our hill several times a week throughout November and December. She is ready to come back in to work but I wanted to build a bit of muscle before even thinking about putting a saddle on her.

Bo, my youngster, has mostly been on his hols other than the odd hack.

Yesterday we decided that the old girl is ready to start going a bit further, and brought Bo along to keep her company, just leading him as I wanted to get back before the heavens opened.

He was an utter, utter lunatic. He just totally lost his brain. I have no idea why. I just kept turning him around and made him trot back up the hill every time he lost the plot, in a vain attempt to reconnect his brain to his feet.

Anyway, after a few months out of the school on the advice of my physio, I think it's time to get him back in there once or twice a week and get him out on some longer hacks as he's clearly bursting with energy and needs to get back to work. Boot camp for Bo!
