Hello,
I hope one (or more) of you can give me some advice on the best place to go and do Clear Round jumping near Gloucester.
I could really do with somewhere I could go to every week, with a small (2' or below) course but with fillers (probably pushed out to the side). Also somehwere that doesn't mind an instructor going in with you and shouting advice / dropping down the odd pole etc

Horse and I both need to bump up our confidence, and whilst she's capable of jumping a decent height I have a tendency to back off with my legs in the last stride if I know she's backing off it slightly - which she does almost always where fillers are involved

Any ideas gratefully received (or advice!). Would rather not go somewhere with 1000s of small children on ponies if at all possible, as at over 40 and with a 15'3'' horse I feel I may well stick out like a sore thumb

It's a little bit far but worth it if it ticks all the boxes! I've also entered the Combined Training there on the 24th so maybe a trip prior to then would be a good plan!
Thank you for the advice

Worth a go - used to keep my lady there - so a bit shy about going back

May well pay it a visit on Saturday though if I can get up early enough

Thank you

Rockhampton have unaffiliated jumping every Wed evening with clear round at 6.00pm
Not far from J14 M5

Is this alongside or instead of Home Farm? Not sure you'll beat HF for patience and low-key-ness (that IS a word now!)
It's not every week, but the CR that runs along the evening dressage at Chelt and District RC should be fairly chilled. Varying heights all evening and "This series of shows is designed to encourage young horses/beginners in a quiet and relaxed atmoshphere, and to have a bit of fun!" X

Gonna be instead of HF I think - attitude last night there was nowhere near as friendly as it has been

CDRC is a good idea, will re-hunt their schedule back down and maybe even join in with the stressage too! xx

Good idea - do you have any contact details or website for them? They are only just down the M5 from me - we're by J12

Ditto Rockhampton - its where I learn't to jump and they are very pateint - even took my exracehorse there to introduce him to jumping. Weds they do (or use to do) tiny-tots and the jumps start at 1'6 ish!!

Where abouts near Jn 12 are you - Im between 13 + 14

I'm at Standish - between J12 and Stonehouse on the B4008 (I think!). Are you somewhere down the A38?
