Cleveland Bays - who has them ?

Any of you got Cleveland Bays ???

What are they like? My boy is a Cleveland x and just wondered what bits of his character etc. come from the Cleveland side and what bits he gets from his 'unknown' native pony side !!!

For the record though, the two CB's she's been associated with are absolutely wonderful

Sorry, but I've ridden a few CB crosses in my time and found the following similarities;
1. All very good looking, lovely coat and topline.
2. All good doers
3. All very spooky, verging on the unpredictable to dangerous.
4. All had rather hit or miss jumping techniques...aaarrgghh!!
This is not an attack on CB's...just my personal experiences!

I wish she was a little more unpredicatable and spooky - she takes life at a steady pace - even out hunting - she is on Tiger Oats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as for jumping, she only has to do it out hacking and hunting and loves it - NEVER stops!!!!

I am totally envious! How did you find such a paragon of the CB clan? Was it intentional or did you just come up lucky (along the lines on lotter win odds!). I'm convinced that my horses say "phew, that the buying bit over, let's settle in and then we can return to normal...."

In short am afraid don't know too many details re. who he's out of as I loan him and I think his history is a bit unknown anyway, but he's a Cleveland x, he's absolutely adorable and I'm in love!! He's 26 now so is as cheeky as they come and has taught me soooo much! He's a v good doer - too good! And his coat is fantastic - even at his ageand I love his colour! He's v dependable, not spooky (sorry Shilasdair!!) .....Oh I could go on and on!!!

We have one, well a x tb, he is so steady and not scared of anything, but doesnt like getting his feet wet!
Not a great jumper, his style is more of a plough straight through them style.

We have one. He's built like the side of a house, goes like stink, jumps like a stag, never ever spooks, bit of a handfull to ride as he thinks he knows all the best places to canter and then goes stuff canter lets gallop!
He is very very good looking too, and don't he know it!!

Me!!!!! I've got a mongrel as well, CB x welsh we think. She gets her stubborness from the welsh, and her loveliness and talent is all CB (*fairhill waits to receive prize from SSM for saying nice things about CBs*). She's the plain dark bay in my sig and she's the best horse I've ever owned
