Cleveland Bays

Ahh well done! sounds like you did very well. I don't know how they judge mixed age groups as there really is no comparison sometimes...

it's even worse with little local shows that I tend to do at the moment as there's my giant CB against a load of miniatures, welshes and maybe the odd coloured youngster lol!

Irish life I remember Dear me when she came to stud one year. So long ago I can't remember which though!

I remember many Cleveland colts going to Germany, Belguim and Holland ( though they may have gone to other countries but these were ones I was actually involved in). The continental breeders I met all said that bone, movement and temparment(SP) were their reasons for using clevelands to improve warmbloods. The last one I was actively involved in the selling of went to Holland in the eighties. I did have a very good article out of a german horse magazine ( and a translation thank goodness ,as though I lived in Germany for a few years I wasn't good at reading it !) and it talked about what a good influence the Cleveland was on warmblood breeding . I have unfortunately lost it though I still keep looking ( sorry Colin G , still searching !).

I was looking for someone on the forum who had a CB colt and found this thread. Worth resurecting I think simply for the super photos.

The horse exported to Holland in 1980's might have been Manningford Hermes.

Just look at the result.

Frozen semen available for the latter whom I will use BOTH Shagya and CB. We know it works.

Whispering...I'm so drawn to CBs. My husband is sitting very close to the computer. I daren't utter a word. Between the Shires and Poitou donkeys, there isn't a chance in h-ll I could even broach the subject. I shall admire the CBs from afar. Please keep these threads and photos coming!
