Clippers? Too good to be true??

Please could someone tell me if these would be an ok option till i can afford the posh ones? Is £40 for clippers just too good to be true?? (PLEASE SAY NOT!!

they are abit like human hair clippers, i did my horse with babyliss clippers before and he looked like hed been done with veet!!
 
Clippers are for clipping, trimmers are smaller and not as powerful so are usually used for the face, legs and any other fiddly bits.
 
I doubt very much you'd get a clip out of trimmers - you'd be better paying someone the £40 to come and use large clippers.
Trimmers (even if they would get through thick hair) would probably heat up very quickly and you'd have to keep turning them off to cool - it would take a-g-e-s!
 
Don't waste your money on these. They will not do a clip of any kind on a horse/pony. They would be alright to trim whiskers & possibly keeping light feathers off but they don't have the power to do a clip. These type of clippers may be able to trim a dog, but even then they will struggle if the dog has a long coat.
