I need to clip some coat off of my pony. What's the name of the blades that don't take as much coat off. How much do they leave on in comparison to a usual clip?

i think you may be thinking of covercote blades. i haven't used them myself but that might enable you to do a search.

Covercote blades in theory leave a summer coats length of hair. They are best used when the winter coat hasn't fully come in otherwise your pony spends the entire winter looking like it has been chewed up and spat out by a tiger before being dragged through a hedge backwards. I hate the things.

They also only work with Lister clippers so if you have any other make you won't be able to use them.
