Clipping feather off welsh cobs-dressage

I have done, at various times for various reasons, it always made him look light of bone even at his fittest as he is big barrelled.

I always keep feathers clipped off mine but she only grows scrappy pathetic excuses for feathers anyway! Like ester I do find that it can make her look a little top heavy as she doesn't have much bone compared to her body - she looks much more in proportion when really fit.

Frank has quite a lot of feather normally. I think because he is such a stocky square sort he just can't quite pull it off. Helped us sort the leg scabbiness though.

Kira's front legs are not stuck on at the best angle so I leave hers on as it disguises it a little :o They are full on silky flares at this time of year :D I'd love to take them off, she has short legs and is not that deep so they actually look OK so it would save on shampooing, plus it would stop OH swearing about singeing them when she's having the shoes burnt on, but such is life :p

These are the rubbish feathers Maddie grows! I wish she'd grow them properly or not at all, it'd save me clipping legs every 2 months when she's in work :p.

MP - Mine has properly wonky front legs from the knee down, I just hope people don't look too closely! You could always take them off and see how it looks? They grow back ;).

Yes, they are officially pathetic! She is defintely more elegant than F though! It always suprises me how much more we end up with in winter but this is summer quantity

I always presumed all welshies were the same until watching breed classes and even there (where you think feather would come into it) there are a lot with not much at all.
