First clip Pidge had took nearlly 2 hours but it was perfect, lines level, edges level etc. However I clipped him on Sunday and only took 40 mins so not so perfect edges and lines

I was pushed for time so it was just a case of whack it all off as quick as poss. He has a hunter clip by the way.
So how long does it take you and how perfect does it have to be?
NB I will not be doing a 'rate my clip' picture of Pidge

Im one of those perfectionist clippers so takes me hours much to the annoyance sometimes of my horse!! but i always try and think you can't see both sides of the horse at the same time so does not matter if it is not level and if its off they are not getting hot.

I done a hunter clip this weekend and possibly took about 2 hours, including clippers cooling down half way and trimming a stencil in his bum.
It's not perfect though...

Prob about an hour to an hour and a half? I'm not overly careful but will pick any missed bits the few days after.

I have itchy eczema type skin, so thats as long as I can take being covered in hair, I then have to run home and have a shower.

I usually do a full clip in 40mins, possibly a bit more if I have to use small trimmers to do the head. TBH in a couple of weeks the lines will have grown out, so I don't worry about it too much if I'm doing my own horse.

But then I do get a lot of clipping practice from Aug through to March, so hopefully my clips look OK anyway!!

I usually take a bit longer if I'm clipping for someone else though.

Having a show cob & having to clip every 3-4 weeks (even in the summer), a full clip (face, legs & hog included) takes at most an hour and half to do the lot without lines!! I dont know how i do it either!

It takes me 2 hours, from start to finish, including hot-cloth-ing at the end, to do a full body clip and half face (but leaving the legs). Pony is mega hairy though! I am quite obsessive about not leaving bits, and making sure there's no tramlines!

I take AGESSS!!!!! and thats with a well behaved horse, i like it to be perfect and often clip patterns etc in, last yr my old pony had a play boy bunny clipped in lol

but ye im a perfectionist lol

40 mins to do a full clip (Legs and Half head left on) and I am a real perfectionist when it comes to my lines. However I have been clipping the same horse for 6 years, all year round every couple of months - I reckon I could get the lines inthe right place with my eyes shut

He also stands like a lamb and will rest his front leg on my hip so i can do his armpits

It takes me slightly longer to do a strange horse or if I use clippers other than my own.

ETS - In the summer I take everything off and it will take me about an hour and a half-ish

LOL I am terrible it has to be as near to perfect as I possibly can. Just can't stand to see wobbly lines or bits missed.

All I need now is a horse to clip ARGHHHH (don't worry tho won't rush)

I hunter clipped Monty on saturday. Bathed him first thing, put him out to dry and then brought back in later to clip. Took 1hr 10 mins from start to finish (not including bathing obviously!) - nice clean coat is sooo much easier to clip

Have left his legs, head (cos I can't get near it) and saddle patch. No tram lines but there is some random long hair on his belly today?!

My first clip took hours, took me ages to mark him out with chalk and using a broom handle as a straight edge, my farrier asked if I had done it blindfolded, he was joking it wasnt that bad, I got better each time after.

My horses are fully clipped - they have a small saddlepatch, legs are left on, one has his face half clipped and the other has his face left on- clipped them last weekend and took me 1/2 hour per horse with level/straight leg lines etc. I time myself and allow 30 mins per horse as I hate clipping with a passion as am allergic to hair/dust!!, I do like to do a perfect clip but I will not stand there for hours with the clippers!
