My mare is usually turned away for the whole of winter and then some i.e. September to April/May however now I am in a position where I will be able to ride earlier.
I plan to leave her rugless as usual and let her full coat develop and then clip her late Jan/early Feb for when I bring her into work. She'd be doing 20-25 mins brisk walking on a hack 3/4 times a week. Weather permitting possibly 45 mins with some trot. This is the coat she gets if allowed(!):
When i have been at a yard with a school she's been ridden during winter and had a blanket clip. so what clip would you recommend ? Or is Jan/Feb too late to clip?
