I'm forward planning here and it may turn out to be unnecessary but I'm after opinions.
My sons pony gets very woolly in the winter and is quite happy to live out unrugged, in fact he hates being stabled! but he gets bad rainscald
Because he is so woolly it is hard to get to the sores to treat so last year we tried to keep him dry and rugged him only he then sweated and still got it
This year I have found a very lightweight rug that I hope will keep him dry and not make him sweat because the only other alternative I can think of is to clip him just to rug him
Has anyone else had similar problems and what did you find worked? Or if I have to clip what kind of clip do people suggest?
