normally i leave one of my mares till just before the opening meet (end of Oct ish) but thats cos shes the spawn of satan when it comes to clipping, then she gets done just before Feb for her 2nd clip.
My others are going to get clipped in the next week as they are already getting fluffy coats then they get clipped every 3 weeks ish

I clip when they need it, it doesn't matter what month it is.

They are all starting to get very hairy and I will clip them when they start getting too sweaty when working.

Mine will be clipped sometime after the end of October as I going on Holiday an they will be turned out during that time, they could probably do with being clipped now though as I am having to give them a full wash of after every ride at the moment

Crikey I'm doing well then - but mine is in at night anyway which probably helps (he doesn't do going out at night - ever). My boy is in the shedding hair stage which is not great as he is a gray.

Normally I can hold off till Mid October, then seem to need to go again 3 weeks later and then not again till Jan when everything including legs come off.

I didnt clip until Nov last year as he was just coming back from injury and i didnt want to get killed haha but im hopefully clipping this Sun as hes a tad wolly and its taking forever to cool the beast down when usually he never sweats!!!

I clip as and when my lot need it - I hardly ever plan when I will be going to clip! :)

I clipped the pony last weekend, as she was such a wooly little person already.

I'm not sure if I will be clipping my boy this winter - this would be the first winter that he is in work - so we will see how we go. He isn't an overly hairy person, but he is quite a hot & sweaty one - so we will see.

I'm going to have to clip my big boy once he's back in full work after his hock injections. Normally it would be at the end of Sept, but I'm thinking a month later this year. Then he'll need two or three more (full clips but leaving face and legs on) with the last being at the end of January. Any less and he's a woolly mammoth.

My small boy is a different story. I'm going to wait until absolutely necessary before putting us all through that delight! Hopefully (please ......) he'll get away with just the one. He's not great with the clippers - understatement!
