Do you guys use clipper oils or just normal WD40 etc ??

Clipper oil. Why would you use WD40? I wouldn't have thought WD40 is much good for blades in the long term and clipper oil isn't particularly expensive.

be careful when using wd40 as quite a few horses are sensitive to it, and it can cause skin reactions.

Someone once told me not to use WD40 as it was too thin and therefore not good for the blades in the long term.

never wd40, so called friend used it on my clippers (after i percificly asked her not to) low and behold they broke half way through her clip, just sent them off and its gona cost £130 to repair, resulting in me having to bye a new pair, decided i may as well i earn a lot of money clipping so ill get my money back on them but i would always use oil and never lending my clippers out again! (oh and hers were broken which is why she was using mine, proberly b'cos she used wd40 on hers!!!)

i have been clipping for over 25 years and have always used WD40, never had a problem yet, machines serviced and pat tested at least annually, and get around 6 to 8 clean horses out of each set of blades. it is advised to use clipper oil but never had a machine break due to WD40!!
