Closing down an account on H&H forum

*snort* brilliant! :biggrin3:

just stop posting, people will forget about you and your posts amazingly quickly (no disrespect to you - that goes for most of us!) All you have done by posting this is draw more attention to your posts and attract more unwanted comments and that's only going to upset you more

very true.

Not so. I know of a Scottish solicitor who by dint of threats, convinced Admin that they should have their name removed. Whether Admin were persuaded because of the attention which the Authorities are showing to libellous claims, remains a mystery.

Perhaps Admin could clarify the situation regarding the rights of forum users.

Absolutely LOVE this post. So very true.

My advice would be to log off and don't come back. Or stop posting threads about how proud you are to be competing a chronically, 'hopping' lame horse on bute. Simples.

Applecart14, you made a mistake posting about competing on bute, albeit your horse was on bute under vet instruction and yours is probably one of thousands competing on bute, some owners dont even care to bute, but you have given very worthwhile threads in the past, so look forward, never look back, and think before you post in future no one on this forum is perfect.

This is exactly what I just did, having no idea what was behind this thread. Have read 'that thread' and have indeed come to the same conclusion as most.

Thousands? Really? It's against the rules - even when competing unaffiliated in some cases. Are people really that cruel?

some owners dont even care to bute

Which means what exactly? That buting a horse to compete is more "caring" than not buting . . . or not competing? Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by this . . .

I agree that the OP should just press on rather than having a good flounce . . . and I don't believe that anyone on "that" thread professed to be perfect . . . people were just rather taken aback at the idea of competing a possibly unsound horse (I never could get to the bottom of whether the horse was sound or not with possible soft tissue damage and other issues while medicated . . . seems a perfectly reasonable response to me.

Having reached the conclusion, wouldn't wandering off, and bothering ourselves with another matter, be a little more seemly?

Just because the subject of this conversation may have invited such comments, does it make it right to form a collective? I'm not defending the OP, or her opening post, just her right to a passive response.

*dumbo alert* what does Afaik mean?!

as far as I know ;)

Google is your friend for anything like this!

If Ester isn't around, and you want an alternative to Google, I've found that doing a search on Urban Dictionary is often helpful, but acronymfinder, and Ask Jeeves is also good.

You do sort of wonder what is between their ears. I never read the original thread, but get the idea.

Yup I hadn't read it either so went digging. I am shocked & feeling very sorry for that horse - as the rest of you were too!!

Like many others, I've only now read "that" thread because of this one. :rolleyes3:

It seems clear this thread is attention seeking by the OP. Otherwise, why post it in "Tack Room" (equine posts only) rather than "Feedback, Questions and Queries" where the question would be answered quickly without being seen by many other members? :wink3:

I wouldn't mind betting it's common sadly, it is cruel but does happen.

I don't believe they meant owners who don't bute are more caring. They just don't try and hide the lameness just carry on as normal.

Me too :(

Exactly

Had to nosy at the orginal post in question, Please sort your horse out, poor poor horse. TBH you are no loss to the forum if that's how you treat your horse, So bye bye and don't come back

Both of these statements, if true, make me really sad :(.

For the record I don't think the OP has posted this as a response to just the thread about jumping the buted up horse.
They also posted something else recently which was treated very rudely & they were accused of lying.
