Our young cocker Dora, is 11 month old and is slowly chewing her way through the house.!
I've been to dog training, she was ace at it, behaved like an angel, but she chews for England...she has a denta stick a day, so does our 6 yr old dog, who is so well behaved, has bones from butcher once a week, has tons of toys, most with holes in ! But she still chews when left alone with my older dog... We have had to confine her to her cage when I go shopping ( 2 hours max) but this is not a punishment as she sleeps in there during the day without the door being shut..she likes her cage.
She has chewed the corner of kitchen wall, chewed dustpan and brush, shredded a roll of bin bags, and I have to say they were all out of her reach, so I thought..
She chewed my new glasses , took them from my bag! Including the case.
And I've lost count of number of things she has stolen and took away to chew up..
We have had two vet visits for sickness , caused by eating forbidden stuff. I spray stuff with no chew stuff..,
Makes no difference. She is left alone with older dog for 4 hours a morning twice a week while I work, has 3 walks a day, one of them free off lead chasing a ball
Yet she is still so distructive. She sleeps well at night tho and is tired by 7 pm.
Any other ideas of things I can do till she grows out of it , well that's what I've been told !
Help. ..."...
