my vet recommended to me about buying some of these yesterday, in order to help aid my mare's new issues (poor thing is a boxrest pony again)!!

are there any to avoid/any that are really worth the buy?

cold hosing her legs isn't really an option as my mare really dislikes it.

thankyou x

I use only bonner bandages , I have had loads of types of leg coolers over the years but these are best giving both cold and compression .
When we have a horse needing cooling I keep a cooler of ice and water outside the stable to soak the bandages in .
they quick and easy to use and highly highly effective .

thank you! the issue is for her back legs, i've never really used bandages before. she used to have magnetic chaps but they got ruined sadly

we do have a freezer at the yard but i'll have to check if i'm allowed to use it :/

How much icing do you need to do if you are doing twenty minutes every hour its easiest to have two bonner bandages per leg .
It’s easiest to have ice in the freezer put that in water for these bandages .

I use wrap around wine coolers as none of the sports boots would fit his pony size legs.

But, I just stick them on for 20-30 minutes when I get back from a fast ride, a long ride or on hard ground, so may not be suitable for box rest if need to leave on for a long time unsupervised.
