if you have a high withered TB type, what combo rugs do you find suit?

i tried a masta combo on my horse and although it was wide across the front, it was tight in depth and when he put his head down it pulled awfully on his withers!!

just wondering what makes people find ok? i have a fal combo with a detachable neck that seems better on him, butive been warned the seam may rub his mane out?

Well my horse isn't a high withered tb... but I used a Weatherbeeta combo for a while which resulted in losing a patch of mane about 4" long where it sat above her withers. Last year I used a Rambo Supreme (detachable neck) and still had a full mane in the spring. I always thought that a detachable neck would rub more, but I think if the basic rug part fits, the neck seam is not a problem.

i had my high withered welshie in a mark todd combo last winter but it still rubbed a good 6 inches of his mane and ruined this year's show season as it's only now growing back. have bought a snuggy hood and standard neck rugs for this year and will save the combo's for only the worst of the bad weather.

Yep, mine got something like a pressure sore from his combo last year and it is only just healing up now

He never had it with a detachable neck rug though so I'm planning on switching back to that TBH.

My boy is in an Amigo combo. No problems at all and he is ia high withered TB

I have a WB Tristar on my high withered. In his last home he'd clearly had a bad fitting rug as he was left with a scar over his wither! However, the WB rugs never rub him and fit really well.

my high withered tb wears either Rambo or amigo rugs with either detatchable or fitted necks and no rubbing, plenty of room. Recommend the Rambo supremes, expensive but worth every penny!
