Full schooling livery (pm for 6 months) - - €600
Shoes - - €40 pm (2 sets in three months @ 60 a set)
Insurance - - €30 pm
Competition/Hunt (cap) - - €40 pm

so at the moment excluding vets, purely maintenance not taking into account tack etc.....

€710 or £477 (st)

also doesn't include what I try to save every month to build stables, what the land has cost that I've bought, saving for trailer.....

i know, i wonder where i find my money from too!! luckily archie is costing me a lot less than Bloss as hes just fed D&H country cubes!!

So with Bloss's £400 a month, Archie is:
DIY - £145
Shoes - £75
insurance - £100

so all in all its £720 a month for the both, not including competitions (which are less at the moment as not competing so much) id say they average around £60 a month....

you pay £360 a month DIY???? Do your horses live in Buckingham Palace?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's for two horses so only £180 per month each.

It's the going rate here and includes full use of all facilties including indoor school, ad lib hay in stable and field, straw etc.

Both are on part livery. £380 per month
Shoes £54 each evey 6 weeks
Insurance (high excess) £20 per month each
Suppliments (blue chip) £35 per month each
Lessons - 1 a week each @£20 = £80 each a month

OH's mare costs a bit less as less feed and v low insurance

That's not inc lessons/comps as I've not been able to afford any since moving them home as the house is taking up all my money

I've read all your posts & I'm frightened to add up my expenses. I'll just continue paying out in blissful ignorance of the true cost......which will obvously be more than I think.
