Looks like it's rather prone to standing on two legs,, with the standing martingale and ****** strap:D

Not a bad looking horse, obviously needs building up a lot. Nice face:).
 
Depends what you are looking for?

She isn't breeding material - conformation is not good.

she is sway (week) backed, very upright shoulder, weak quarters and hind legs, high set on tail, ewe necked, long pasterns, generally weak looking. it may be she is being brought back in to work or just started, in which case i'd say her jockey is too heavy for her.

she does however look to be very calm and sensible.

kibob - Yeah; he's only young - being broken in so he does need more top line and muscle - I think thats why he has the martingale etc :)
 
Very nice head :) and good sized lugs as well :D

Although guessing he is either being backed or re-trained off track?

And arguing about it, hence the standing martingale and someone always walking with him?

Have you a photo of him from side on, with no tack?

Sorry, didn't realise he was a gelding, ignore the breeding statement then!

He really doesn't look well put together, ok, more topline will improve him, but it depends what you want. his conformation is not going to help him remain sound for a long ridden career.

Comments for what purpose?

At the moment I can tell you it is brown, of TB type origin, a bit underconditioned and lacking topline

^^ This.

V odd neck muscle for a baby to me. Lacks the condition or maturity needed for it to build up anymore and a standing m certainly isn't the way I'd go with breakers. Personal choice though I guess.

I'd say it's nigh on impossible to give any kind of adequate assessment of his conformation - based on those photos.

If this is something that you're interested in buying - but have not yet seen - ask them to send you some proper photos.

2 x side on stood up properly

1 x front

1 x rear

All without tack and boots.

On level ground and in good light.

Might actually be a smashing sort - but who can tell........

Looking like that at 4....I'd be inclined to turn it away/lett it fill up for a while rather than carry on ridden work...Just looks a late developer.

Has he raced or been in training?

I was thinking off turning away till spring, had been in training but never raced :)
 
I think he has a lovely kind face. But i am sorry for you that people have sounded so negitive. Afraid i know nothing of conformation so can not advise you.
 
i quite like him from but you really can't tell much about his conformation from those photos.

i would say he looks very immature and could do with a smaller jockey and 6 months in the field and then long reined to build up.

I wouldn't bother to go and see unless he was very close or they sent you a pic of him side on without tack.
 
He's got a lovely face, but does look like a late developer. TB's are very slow growing so I think starting him now just the basics then turning away for a bit to let him fill out might be the best thing :)

Plan to event [eventually - as in three/four years time] but just want to trun him out over the winter and bring back into work slowly and gently :D

I do beg to differ, TBs are fast developers, hence the poor things are raced as 2 year olds! Big chasers are normally on the track as 4 year olds.

so, he has been in training, learnt the ways of being a racehorse and now out of training and supposedly re'trained they have him in a standing martingale with a chunky neckstrap and dont take the headcollar off when the bridle is on.........methinks there might be a bit of an issue there!:eek:
How exactly have they worded the advert for him? What are they selling him as?
 
oh yeah, and in all the photos there is someone holding the horse and the one photo where someone has obviously just let go of the horse and stood away from the photo (horse about to follow handler) the rider is gripping onto the saddle.....
I dont know you or anything about your riding ability but i think this one might be tricky and would need a strong confident and well experienced rider.Preferably one with racing experience. If this is you then i think at the right price (ie cheap) he could turn out to be lovely - nice eye and good ears!
