I have a 16.3 chestnut mare who has never been lame , she came in from the field 14 days ago not weight bearing , it turns out its concussion in the foot and i have to ice the hoof daily. She is now being ridden and looks good in walk but still lame in the trot and still heat on hoof by the bulbs of the heal . Has anyone ever had this problem and do you have any ideas on how to keep the hoof cold as there is still some heat ??
