Have decided to sell on said horse, subject of many postings, but today thought Id have another go at getting him out of the yard on his own. No one about at all so thought good opportunity. He will now not even go off the concrete apron of the yard onto the drive as he thinks hes going out. Wanted to take him in the school field as usually that is OK, today Non! Anyway sat on him quietly for 30 mins and he veeeery gradually one step literally at a time went into the school field. We wandered round for a bit then came out the gate towards the yard gate and brakes on again. Anyway sat there again quietly and one step at a time I actually got him to go out of the gate. BUT, every time he walked on a step if I put my legs on and told him to walk on he stoped again, I actually had to let him totally decide to walk on. So, has he won because he was calling the shots, or did I win because he did go out of the gate??. Have to say didnt go any further as turned round once out of the gate and got off on a good note! Took me an hour to go about 30 yards! All the while praying no one was going to come in the gate!
