As it says really - we have a couple of horses with Irish points (one with 30 and one with 50) and were wondering what these 'convert' into? Is there anywhere I can find out?

I *think* you would need to email the irish SJ office and get them to comfirm the points, then send the emails to BSJA and they will tell you how much they are going to put on the horses card. ( so what they think its the equivalent to) Thats what ive always done for dutch horse.

I'm pretty sure that when we converted my boys points they gave him £9 for every 1 point he had, I think the bsja check with the sjai themselves. Also, check out the sjai website for their records as they are brill- and free

You are both right!

Taken from the SJAI website

"How do I convert English money to Irish Points?

Horses and ponies coming in from Great Britain are assessed on their winnings for their appropriate Grade .

Horses - 1 SJAI Point equals £9 sterling.

Ponies - 1 SJAI Point equals £2.50 sterling."

I always believed it was 2.5

It still is........for ponies. Horses are £9 per point.
It confused me initially when I got my lad and checked out the BSJA site. For some reason the 2.5 stands out but the ponies bit doesnt.

Rule 64.2 on page 49 of bsja rulebook
