Apologies if this has been done before but how much have you paid the vet to have your dog castrated? A friend has just enquired and the vet is charging £127 to have an 18m lab castrated. I had my lab done a few years back and I'm sure it wasn't that much.

Am I completely out of touch?

Can't help with the cost of castration but I have just booked my 2yr old Springer in for a spay

oh... am all disapointed - I thought this was going to maybe be a post about the 'cost' to the dog - perhpas psychologically or behaviourally

Yep I agree....it's worth the cost to help your dog both psychologically and behaviorally

I think it really differs between areas and weight/size of dog.

Mine was £66.19

He was about 20 months old when it happened, he did have dog aggression issues (was not a humper), and we also did it for medical reasons also (two less things down there to get infected) and he was not the type to breed from.

He has not changed one iota. He is exactly the same weight 38-40kg and his aggression was eventually righted with extensive training.
Behaviourally and psychologically, I see no difference whatsoever, he just won't be procreating.
