Hi
I am after some advice as to what I should pay for a cob. He is approx. 14.2hh, 8 years old and has spent his life in a riding school. I have known him for just over a year now and loved him from the off. I have been loaning him but now the owner is looking to sell him.
I know he is a head shaker, does have a bit of a pollen allergy but a lot is behavioural I think.
He is head shy when it comes to putting his bridle on but allows certain people to do it, guessing this can be overcome with me.
He is a follower and I want to be able to hack out alone with him. He hacks out lovely with other horse be it in a group or with just one other.
He needs some schooling but that is no problem.
He does spook if other horses spook first and he is a little nervous when passing gates to fields. He can be quite nervous but if I remain confident and firm he is ok.
He is a great all rounder and has a lovely temperament.
As far as I am aware he has no showing history.
He pops a jump lovely
He will come with his tack which is in good condition.
I will want to see him load/unload as not seen that yet and I will insist on some work being done re putting his bridle on. He would remain at his current yard on working livery. I have 3 others on livery there as well.
I have been offered him for £4k and told she will not budge on that price. Do you think it is a fair price? It would be the most I have ever paid out. Never paid more than £1k but that has been for children's ponies.
Any advice appreciated thanks.
