Quick question :)

We are a small DIY yard and tend to help each other out but if one of us was to start offering services what would be a fair charge? This is what I was thinking...

Turn out / Bring in - £1 (fields, 2-5 min walk)
Change rugs (pick out feet pm) - 75p
Muck out - £4

???

Hey we pay:
£2.25 turnout or bring in one way (no rug change)
£10 regular customer all day services
£12 non regular customer

Livery yards I've looked at range from:
Bring in £1-£1.50
Turn out £1-£1.75
Rug Change £1
Muck Out £4

What I think is fair is another question ;) worked out on a minimum salary wage (ie. generous at £6/h) I would say TO takes 5mins so 50p, bring in takes probably 10min so £1, rug change takes about 5-10min depending on number of rugs, so for 1 rug 50p, 2+rugs £1, Muck out (inluding filling water and hay) takes MAX half an hour so £3

£6 - muckout/catch-in/turn-out/ feeds hay etc
£1 - catch-in/turnout, extra 50p for rugs
£5 - muckout, haynet, water
£2.50 - skip out.

This is what the two people who do job service on the DIY yard in at charge.

That is what I am trying to take into account... but also realise that by offering the services it will save someone from coming down twice and day = saving in fuel and time = ££??

I pay £2 for either turn out or bring in, year round.

(includes rug changes and hosing off in winter) I think this is fair as in summer it takes seconds but in winter can take 15 minutes or more.

Muck out £5
feeds or haynets 50p each
on and off horse walker £2

Full cover £8 per day.
