some of you may have followed the problems i have been having with my pony twiggy. To cut a long story short she changed from utter sweetie to dangerous rearer in the space of 3 months. It was so bad that the last time I tried to ride her she reared vertically twice and I had to throw myself off.
We thought we had tried everything; edinburgh and glasgow vet schools couldnt find anything wrong with her.
As a last resort we tried putting her on regumate to see if it made a difference..
And oh my god she is a changed pony! No longer moody to tack up and today i lent over her on the lunge. A few weeks ago we tried this and the immediate reaction was ears back and buck, but today she was perfectly happy and i even sat up properly and had a few steps of trot!! She behaved beautifully and didnt feel uncomfortable at all.
If it continues to work this well i think we will have her ovaries taken out which should solve the problem once and for all.
Sorry but i am just over the moon, i knew it wasnt time to give up on her yet.
(hope i havent jinxed it by posting too soon!)
