Country Boots... Recommendations

When I moved to the city over a year ago, I thought it was a good idea to chuck all my dirty/worn country boots... which I am now regretting as I go back into the country atleast once a month - I'm such an idiot!!

Anyway, can anyone recommend some country boots that are water resistant and wouldn't look completely out of place if I do wear them around London (not shopping!! Just around Richmond Park or somewhere similar)?

I've been looking at the Fairfax and Favor Explorer boots but as they haven't been around long, I'm not sure if they're actually any good.

I also love my Dubarrys, I get them covered in mud, hose them off then rub a bit of saddle soap into them when they are dry and I'm off doing something a bit smarter. I've had mine for several years now and they have been worth every penny. they are also very comfortable!

Just bought some ariats which are lovely, haven't worn them yet so can't comment on durability. I'd avoid Toggi, the quality has gone seriously down hill over the last few years.

I have country boots for working and going out and about in after seven years my working ones are almost ready to be pensioned off so my smart ones will go to work and I am sorely tempted to by the F and F Dora boots for smart .

me too, always had cheaper alternatives until OH surprised me with some last xmas, would def choose to have them again as they are pretty much permanently on my feet and coping well with tramping through mud etc regularly tidy up well with a bit of elbow grease.

Ariat's or Dubarry. Have to sat the Ariat's were warmer though.

Not sure how tall you are but if your legs are that little bit shorter then Ariat Windermeres are great. I have had my everyday pair for seven years (!) and still good, my best pair have had for 3 years now. Eileen Douglas tackshops had them recently at £109 which is an amazing price
