Cows or sheep or even something else?

I placed a post on here yesterday saying my lad galloped of with me, and had a reply (somethiing like this) of yes my coloured did this 2 weeks ago but was running from sheep.

Well my coloured also has a sheep and cow problem, so just thought I would do this for fun to see if it's just coloureds or if it's just a horse thing.

As I can't vote: My horse isn't coloured and shares his field with cows. However he doesn't like other cows his eyes are on stalks if he sees different cows as though he has never seen them before

My boy is a Dun and he hates Pigs....

Although he will jog past cows as well... We're not so bad with sheep as he had them in the field next to his all last summer... including bouncing lambs...

My horse is grey - and adores cows, and doesn't have a problem with sheep either.

But, if the cows or sheep are larking about - cue the lad doing the same. Herd instinct and all that.....
 
My bay is spooked by cows and pigs. She is OK with sheep as we have them in the fields - she was afraid of them too until she discovered she could chase them!

She likes to chase geese too.

I'm sure she'd get over her cow phobia if I could turn her out with some - just need to find a farmer with some cows that needed exercise!!

My horse is black and has no problems with cows or sheep.
He does have a serious dislike of coloured horses though. He's not scared of them - just feels the need to threaten and be horrible to them. It can be quite embarassing

I think it is down to the individual horse and the vibes they give off.

We have llamas near us, with one of my horses they come over all friendly and sniff him and are quite affable.

Yet I go past later with my Pony (who is not one to be trifled with) and they are ears flat back and posturing, Pony goes purple with rage and things will escalate into a full on punch up (if allowed). It is one of the Pony's favourite routes

My old share horse Ellie is a chestnut (nuff said

) and hates pigs is indifferent to sheep but is quite fond of cows as she used to be ridden to round them up

Bella the baggage isn't bothered by pigs as there was a pen right next to her field. Sheep are to be snorted at in a vain attempt to get them to play

and she is used to cows to the point she will call to them and wonder why they don't answer

my Haffie had a thing about golden retrievers, obsessive and fear at the same time. Think she thought they were mini Haffies. So we tried to cure it by using a cream blanket on a rope in the manege and dragging it round. She went ver peculiar and wouldnt let us near the blanket :-OO she made crooning noises at it :-)))

Shes grown up a bit now but still stares at sheep even tho we have them in the next field at home!
 
My cow horse is fine with farm animals, he once had a orphaned calf share his field for a few months. Chickens come in to his stable to try and pinch his feed and the sheep quite often take shelter under the show jumps whilst we are trying to jump them
