Ok I'll admit I'm struggling with the new layout so bare with me, it's hit me that I'm not getting any younger and technology is leaving me behind :(

You may have noticed a lack of a regionals report from Team
Worried that is because, to put it bluntly, we had a disaster from start to finish which does happen and when you work so hard it is absolutely gutting. But as we sat on the side of the M25 waiting to be recovered on our way home... We did start to laugh because quite frankly it was either that or hang ourselves from the the bridge were were sheltering under from the thunder and lightening!

So we have dusted ourselves off and the next outing for Team W, was CP and I at Oldencraig for their first Area Festival, we did actually qualify for the regionals at prelim but I decided to do the Areas and then do the winter regionals.

I needed two more points for qualification for the winters so decided to use the WQ as a warm up and hopefully get the two points we needed at the same time.

I have been much better at controlling my nerves, but will admit that this week I have really struggled and have wrestled with the sicky, flippy tummy almost constantly :( this morning I honestly thought, I can't do this anymore, it's supposed to be fun and I am wreck :( However it's not so much fear anymore, it's the worry of letting Mr W down and CP.

Now poor CP, despite going from strength to strength in terms of training and ridden work, was unfortunately bitten by an adder. She came in looking like an equine version of John Merrick and I actually thought the areas were going to be and go for us. My vets were great and we closely monitored her and it was a huge relief after 48 hours the see the area beginning to reduce in size, however it left two bite marks which are still visible today. That said she is as hard as nails and it dining bother her in the slightest, it did mean that she couldn't be worked for several days as it was far too swollen to out a bridle on :(

As usual preparation took military planning, but everything was packed, we had the correct number of people, children and horses and we left on time at 9am this morning. I on the other hand was trying not to vomit and learn my tests.

Arrived In good time and I leapt out to make full use of the toilet facilities :o and when I returned back to the car, mini-w was doing a grand job of helping Mr W get CP ready...

The surfaces were deep, particularly the warm-up, but she was really good and I didn't do too much as was conscious that I needed something in the tank for the AF class.

I just needed 65% and I was worried about the indoor, as she can get tense inside, as we went in a bird dive bombed us which scared her and me! However although she went a little tense and green, she stayed completely on side and we did a sweet, if slightly cautious P15. Delighted with just under 66% and 4th out of a whopping 19. So qualified for the winter regionals now so fab!

Had a break and was distracted by mini-w throwing a whole, can of lemonade over the front of the Discovery. Got back on with 15 minutes to go and worked through some exercises and she felt great, soft, supple, balanced - it was fab!

Round to the International Arena and she had a little look at the arena but stayed totally onside. Had a great ride and thoroughly enjoyed it, not perfect by any means but we really have come such a long way from June last year when I picked her up!

Back to the trailer and Mr W untacked and started packing up my bits and and so I thought he felt it wasn't going to be good enough to get placed. We had a chat and he said it looked great and thought it was our best test yet.

Humph I replied... Not that good if you are packing everything away!

Rubbish he said, I'm hungry and if we are going to the cafe we need to out everything away! Unconvinced by this I consoled myself with the fact I love CP a lot and whatever the judges thought, I'd had a lovely day.

We went to the cafe, and after about 5 minutes I said I was going to look at the scores as the suspense was killing me!... Looked at the board and promptly started snivelling, equal 4th on 67.5% and qualified directly for the finals.

Even better, 1-4 were required for the mounted prize giving :D so me and CP got to do our first prize giving! Just a fab day, I am really lucky to have found the most genuine, honest little mare who is such a pleasure to have in my life. I'm also incredibly lucky to be married to Mr w, (7 years today), he has worked so hard to help me transform a scruffy little coblet into a very passable little dressage horse, he has also helped transform me as a rider, working with my hip problem and helping me find a way when I haven't always thought I could

Have some lovely pics but no idea how to post them since the forum changed... Anyone give me a quick idiot's guide?

Well done you guys :D

Great news and great pics!! I love CP as a lead rein pony, super-cute :D I also love your 'concentrating' face, I'm glad I'm not the only one who does weird things with my tongue during dressage tests....

We need a new 'before and after' of CP now, she looks amazing!

Glad you put the pics up so I don't have to jump on the "give us pics" bandwagon ;)

You guys are looking so good together, really solid. I <3 CP. I especially love that trot pic where you have your game face on :) Well done on qualification and on weight loss!
