Sorry another lorry question from me :o

How important is having a cut through cab to the living for you?

Would you buy a lorry without one?

ETA - Guess I should also ask - How easy/expensive is it to covert one into a cut through cab?

I have had two without and one with. It's horses for courses IMO although I do like being able to send a child into the back to get me a drink whilst I'm driving.

It's not at all! If you are worried about the horses (like my sister and I were) fit CCTV. It only cost £300 and it's brilliant - you just need to remember to unplug it when you have arrived or risk running about like headless chickens trying to find someone with jump leads so you can leave... :)

Personally I prefer with a cut through as easier and quicker to get to the back if needs be.

Also, my understanding is that if you have a cut through living you can legally travel with passengers in the living whereas if you don't have cut through you can't. Whether that is a factor or not is obviously dependant on how many people are likely to be travelling to an event together.

Cut through has the disadvantage that if it is a cold day it takes a lot longer to heat up the cab as the heat simply travels in to the container.
With modern commercial vehicles a fully tiltable cab is essential for the servicing and repairing of the vehicle which means that to allow for the cut through seals are required to ensure it all remains waterproof so more expensive to build.

Do you have any idea of the cost of this?
