Daft games to play with your pony when it's too hot to work #1

Daft ways to amuse yourself with a pony when it's too hot to do any real work with him - only over grown children need read on - no sensible adults allowed I never want to grow up, I always want to treat riding as a game, and enjoy playing with my pony more than anything in the world There's nothing you can't do with a nice pony!

tentpegging for beginners - sword lance and revolver

sword... (ok yes, it's made of plastic!)

slowest cavalry charge EVER

my pony is so short my sword actually reaches the floor

lance... (aka broom handle...!)

and revolver... ok so the theme running through this is using toys as props for "serious" desensitisation it is only a cap gun after all

Not bad for a pony who used to be so gun shy he'd wet himself at a bird scarer

[now I just need Jen_Cots to come along and tell me all the things I'm doing wrong ]

LOL you're nuts! Reminds me of when my sis and I were younger tearing around Dartford Heath on our ponies playing cowboys and indians LOL!

At least you actually managed to ride, I decided at about 1pm today (having nearly burst into flames on a hack yest eve) that I definitely wasn't going to ride today! Instead I lunged both girls for 10 minutes each, then gave the pair a bath!

bobbing apples is a fun pony game I used to put them in the water trough just to laugh at them totally counts as juvenile behaviour!

Ha ha ha! I know, they're pretty much next door to one another! It comes down to jobs. If it doesn't happen this year, it'll be in 2 years. I'd love to come to visit and play! I'm sure Bailey would love it too, and enjoy meeting a Scottish pony and a fellow yellow pony! We could always do a meet up if we don't move this year

I also just shoved bridle on and barebacked it earlier as couldnt be arsed to carry saddle to the field...


5 minutes up the road however on Hairy cob [clue is in the name there!]....things got rather soggy and rather regretted it for a few minutes lol! But anyway....carried on and had a nice 3 hour hack in sun like that. I actually just ended up standing in a trough we came across to just completely soak myself instead and gave him a splash about. LOL

I know it's daft isn't it! It's Britain, the weather is never just "normal", so it's just a case of dealing with it! I just sweat or get wet Not liking the sound of riding post food poisoning though!

I am in Buckinghamshire, near High Wycombe. I used to love dong all this stuff when I was doing groundwork with Bailey as a baby, and it does help when I have a confidence crisis when riding! Having people around who are slightly mad normally increases my confidence tenfold....!

I'm really lazy and almost never ride bb in winter when it's muddy and pony's wet and blech, have hardly done any this year - hence the pain I think!
