Daft Question - What colour is my Pony?

I thought roan was supposed to have equal amount of white and solid hairs on the body with solid legs and face?

I would agree with Ginny and say either a sabino or rabicano both are quite similar with sabinos often mistaken for being roan.

I meant to say rabicano's are often mistaken for being roan not sabino

hehe, I knew what you meant

I can't decide on rabicano or sabino though.... I'm swerving towards sabino because of the flecks been more even, when on a rabicano I would expect it to be more patchy on the flanks/belly etc.

A not very roan, but still slightly stawberry/chestnut roan. Same as our Bob

here's my two girls both have roaning to various degrees - the one in the foreground is described on her passport as "chestnut with roaning to belly and stifles" and the one in the background is described as red roan.

lilym - I would say the one in the background is Sabino and the one infront is a Rabicano. Does the one infront have any 'roaning' above her tail??
