Daisy - Advice Please

Update.

Bladder looking less inflamed and less blood in the urine. The main area of concern within the bladder was clear, but there was still a small area that wasn’t visible enough to get a clear image of, due to residual ‘muck’ within the bladder. So back next week for another scan. If that’s not successful she’ll be admitted for a biopsy etc. Urine had no markers.

Vet was cautiously optimistic (her words were ‘phew’). She’s also much, much brighter today ?

Hopefully we’ve just had a massive scare, and a very thorough vet…..

Thanks all once again for your kind words and support. It really has meant a lot.

Dangerous things, pets. They bring so much pleasure, but desperate heartache and worry.

Love this forum ????

Phew indeed!! I have been there and it is just awful so I hope you and Daisy are feeling better and you not so worried. A good vet is a blooming brilliant thing to have on side so really glad you have one. Fingers crossed that Daisy has a straightforward recovery now.

I’ve been with this practice since Daisy was a puppy, but have never met this particular vet before, despite it being a small practice. She’s been there for about five years and has a very good reputation. She also has a lovely, caring manner.

Oh my gosh, I can’t imagine how you have been feeling. Hopefully she keeps surprising you with positive news.

So my old dog had a mass/shadowing his bladder, very bloody pee etc, he had a very short urethra and a wide bladder neck, obviously not a problem for Daisy but he also had no sheath.
The upshot was, because of the way everything was put together, he was extremely susceptible to infections and basically anything and everything germ-wise could get up there and cause problems.
I know you live near the sea but it might be worth trying to keep her out of the water/try to keep her nether regions as clean as possible to see if that makes a difference.

Several times today, I've told myself **Today is Thursday, I should check for Daisy update.** But until now, I've chickened out, worrying about what to say if it was a negative update.

Feeling cautiously happy for you, after reading your positive update. Fingers crossed hoping for yet another positive update next week.

Very true indeed.

Really great advice. Thank you xx

How is Daisy doing?

So much better. Pee is almost back to normal colour, and she’s doing her evening rampage around the garden again at last toilet - which is a sure sign of feeling well ?

Another scan on Wednesday, but I’m really hopeful that it’s just been a horrid UTI and the scan is clear.

This is great news, a win we could all do with (hopefully confirmed Wednesday). Its very difficult to not think the worse as they can't articulate what the problem is and are too good at hiding pain

Whoop Whoop. Very happy for you both AM.

Daisy was back at the vets today, and……

ALL CLEAR!! NO MASS ?

Bladder was clear of blood and any sign of infection. No mass, no crystals.

My vet was emphatic that it was not a management issue on my part. But to obviously keep an eye out for any further issues.

Once again, many thanks for everyone’s thoughts and support xx
