***Daughter and Dolly.....and Harley!***

daughter and Dolly updates always choke me up because your absolute genuine heartfelt pride in them just shines through :D so good to hear such a happy update and really pleased you get to keep Dolly, good old OH! Harley looks lovely and daughter certainly looks to be enjoying him.x

such a good story, new lad looks awesome, bet its not long before d is onto horse lol. you should try dolly at driving then you could have a hobby for you and oh and dolly will deffintly always have a job way for you to appreciate her and going out with daughter.

Hi everyone! Well I intended on getting back on here and replying individually to each comment, but you've all been so kind, I'd make this thread massive if I posted a few more pages of reply!!

So anyway, I thought I'd tell you a bit more about Harley.

My intention was to buy Daughter a 10 yr old SJ schoolmaster! I'd decided on a mare, probably a Connemara and I quite fancied a dun!!

We found out about Harley and went to try him out. I was taken instantly with his personality. He was so utterley sweet, and also really really silly!!! He made me laugh. Daughter was very confident in the stable with him and within a minute we were messing with him and unrugging him and getting him tacked up. He is a love!!!

He's not at all what I'd planned to buy. He's so talented but a lot more pony than I'd set out looking for!! A six year old with some tb in him wasnt on my list!

Daughter loves him to bits! He is a big step up, but his nature helps a lot. He just gets quite excitable occasionally!!! Lol!!!

Here he is looking a bit of a dude after a jumping lesson!!

And here he is, showing us his moves!!

Lastly, here he is looking sexy!

I have high hopes for him, he's definitely a work in progress and more of a challenge than I'd intended for daughter this time, but she's up for it and loves him to bits!! Its amazed me how she doesn't look little on him! Weird seeing her happy on a 14.2 and a 12.2!!

Glad you all seem to like him anyway, he's lovely!

Xxx

love to read your updates and after the thread when people were telling you to get ride of dolly, i am SOOOOOOO pleased that you are keeping her. you are lucky with your OH........daughter looks good on harley and he looks a nice type........good luck for the future.....i still love dolly and sounds like your whole family do as well....

About bloomin time :p Harley looks cool - and that he will carry on where dolly left off teaching not so mini redmone a few more things ;)

I love your updates! Im so glad you've kept dolly and the new boy is beautiful! Was it you that posted a while ago about an insane jumping pony that you'd seen on youtube called the dark emperor? That's who he reminds me of! Can't wait for the show reports this summer :)

miniRM is definitely not so mini any more! Harley looks like an amazing find, and she'll have years and years of fun on him. And I'm glad you kept Dolly- perfect solution to a horrible problem :D

oh thats lovely to see Redmone - good for you and what a wonderful OH! Particularly lovely to see a Dolly-sized smile on Daughter's face as she rides Harley :)

Love the pic of him having a 'moment' lol :D
Daughter obviously has great stickability and I bet she learns loads with him!
The other pic you posted- he REALLY looks like my TBx mare in that one! She is the black in my siggy. We don't know what else is in her breeding. Maybe she has some Dartie?

It's amazing how your daughter has got Dolly straightened out, it bodes well for both of their futures!

Harley looks a great character - another learning curve :D

Haven't read all the replies as am just on the way out, but want to congratulate you all for yor success at the Champs. And Harley looks lovely, your daughter looks so right on him. If he develops into a Pony BS pony, look forward to buying lots of diamontes and bling!

Good luck, you and your daughter are very lucky to have been able to keep Dolly too. X

Just lovely :)

Mini has also got a new ride ( almost 3 she is exercising a shitland :) )

As much as we love Levi and all he brings , it is so nice to be a normal parent and just let her get on with what she is doing with her loan pony :)

Well done Molly :)

We do all love Dolly. She's one in a million! Daughter keeps having the odd ride on her, but rather than doing anything boring when she does, they just have a blast together! She gave her a good whizz round the other day and a bit of a gallop - I swear I saw Dolly smiling!! Don't know if pony's "smile" but she was doing, I'm sure!! :-)

Nope, not so mini now is she!!! He's definitely already teaching her! We're in the "trying her out" phase at the moment, but seem to be on the right side of it. Who's idea was it to buy a new pony in December???!!!

I'd never thought of that - yes it was me that posted about him!! He does actually look a little bit like him, now you've said that. Wait til I tell Daughter, she'll love that!!!! He's got such a huuuuuuuuge jump too. I've no idea what their "limit" will be - we're starting off small and just seeing how he goes. But he's definitely a talented boy :-)

Yay!!! So happy for you all... Harley looks like such a dude and your daughter has learnt heeps from riding a pony like dolly - wishing you all the best of luck:)

Thank you! No way she'd be able to ride Harley like she can already without Dolly. He's not naughty, just a bit quirky and well, very different to Dolly. So nice natured though :-) xxx

Lovely update and Harley looks a cool dude.

Thank you xxx

I agree! I was dreading coming on here to announce we'd sold her. We're really lucky to be able to do what we are doing - and the little girl who's part loaning her is lovely. Really the best of all worlds!! :-)

Harley looks great and congrats on keeping dolly. You do know you'll have to buy your own stables when she goes onto horses? ;)

I know.....I know......!!!!! Lottery win perhaps???!!!!

oh thats lovely to see Redmone - good for you and what a wonderful OH! Particularly lovely to see a Dolly-sized smile on Daughter's face as she rides Harley :)

Yes, she loves him already!! Not quite as much as Dolly yet....but we're getting there!! I think she's loving having a pony who doesn't battle with her as much. Yes, he can have a tant, and they're usually a bit more "explosive" than Dolly could manage, but he gives up much quicker! I think it's a boy thing.....!!!

Love the pic of him having a 'moment' lol :D

I bet she does have some Dartmoor in her. I rang the Dartmoor society and they told me loads about Harley. Lovely people and really really knowledgeable. Even if you just know her first owner or the breeder they'll be able to tell you something I'm sure, if she has got Dartie in her. Ring them!!! :-)

Definitely!! Thank you!! xxx

Thank you!! Daughter would like to do BE with Harley. We'll have to see if he works out brave enough, but he does look a nice type for that. xxx

If you come out of croft ends gates. And turn right down the hill. I'm on a farm right down the bottom of the lane and through the stones at the bottom past valley farm x

Ooooooo!!! Waves to Moodymare1987!!! I'm sure you've told me this before and I've looked out for you!

Do you ever come to the Saturday morning lessons? What does your pony look like?

:-)

Awwww well done to your little un too!!!

I'm a bit more tied to the yard at the moment, with Dolly I could leave her to it, but Harley's a bit more to handle until she's used to him. But it is THE WORST time to have a new one (who's idea was it to buy now!!!) and he's fully clipped and full of beans!!! I'm looking forward to this summer when hopefully he'll have settled down more!!!

xxx

Harley looks to enjoy his jumping! He will be super as his experience and confidence builds.

Only down side of the good jumping ponies we had was they are able to jump into which ever field they liked, fences don't stop them!

Redmone - would love to find out about Jas's breeding but as she was the surprise love child of a TB mare that I rescued in dreadful condition (two months later finding out she was quite heavily in foal!) I think it would prove to be impossible, sadly :(

Just seen this after a very long weekend at work, and it's fair cheered me up!
Some fabulous pictures and it's so lovely to see people having fun with their horses.
The new boy looks fab; looking forward to more updates!
