Hi everyone,

Well we've reached the 18 months into ownership mark, and I took a photo today which I just had to share because to me, it sort of marked how far we've come!!

Things are going very well. Today daughter and Dolly entered their normal monthly internet dressage competition (have your fingers crossed for them!) and they were very lucky to be able to warm up in the gorgeous sunshine for a change!!! As we've now bought our van, daughter wants to go to more shows, and more shows mean no pelham! So today was the first competition entered in her snaffle. And Dolly was perfect.

I took a photo outside whilst warming up, and I looked at it later and was so proud of daughter and Dolly and how far they've come. They looked beautiful (no sign of fat pony in this photo!) and I love them both so much.

So I have to share it with you.

Sorry for soppy proud mummy post!!!

Shows what patience and hard work can do for you.

And also, in support of good livery yards and riding schools, shows what the support of experienced, good, kind people can do too. We literally knew nothing, and have looked after so well by our livery yard.

Anyway, thank you for looking! I've got chocolate Mikado sticks if anyone wants one???

:D:D:D

That is a huge achievement!!! Well done to all three of you!

Which internet comp do they do? I did Dressage Anywhere the other day and was very impressed with the whole experience.

LOVELY lovely lovely :D Dolly looks fab and Daughter looks so happy - as always!

Good luck with the dressage and shows :)

Thank you!

They do interdressage.com been doing it a few months now. It's great, really interesting varied tests, brilliant feedback (including exercises to do to improve what they say needs improving) and rosettes and prize money too! Top!!!

:D

Brilliant post and picture. Your daughter looks like her condition is much improved too!!! She looks so much more confident.

Dolly looks like she is smiling for you. Good to hear you are at a good yard and I think most people at good yards are only too pleased to offer help and advice to newbies etc. Glad you are all enjoying it.

Can understand your happiness.

I see the pelham's ditched now too!

Lovely photo. I'm so glad it's worked out for you. :D

Thank you!

The pelham is only partly ditched! Still need it for the brakes sometimes!

This was Saturday......

She's still a lot of pony and gets quite fast sometimes, but daughter is learning to like going fast, so it's all good......:p

Looking good :D Soon you will be doing going out dressage every month.

Got any further on the pony racing idea yet mini RM? ;):D

SSShhhhhhhhh DH!!! You're definately a bad influence!!!

Next year maybe! Next year.......

She's doing the internet dressage every month, and now looking to do a riding club dressage each month and perhaps some jumping/equitation/showing etc..... good god, my lie-ins are OVER!!!!!

Awwww they look great! How did she get on with her dressage? They look very professional!:D

Thanks!

She came 3rd and 4th last month, with 69% and 68%.

Fingers crossed for this month. She's more concerned with her percentage than placing. She's had over 70% once and wants it again!!!!

:D

Aww, what a lovely post :)
 think you need to stop feeding daughter, looks like she's growing like a weed :D

Oh god I know!!!

She's 4 foot 7 inches now, and I'm a hair under 5 foot!!! She's not 11 yet!! Grown so much in 12 months, but needed to with Dolly!!!

All her pants are too short in the leg and she's costing me a fortune in shows! Thank goodness she only has 3 sets of clothes - riding, school and PJs!! She doesn't know how to wear "normal" clothes lol!!! :p

She is worrying that she'll grow out of Dolly though. I can't see it to be honest!

:)

I was shocked by the difference in the photos. Sun is shining in both, so can't say it was that making her look good!!!

It is a great yard, and we're very lucky. Just what we needed, being new owners. God what a learning curve it was too!!! But we've always had help there - it's been priceless.

Dolly does look like she's smiling doesn't she - such a poser!! :D

yes yes, seen that website LOADS of times - daughter keeps randomly leaving it open when she's finished with the computer!!!! Have emailed the nice lady there too......

I'm meeting her half way and possibly taking her and Dol to some gallops soon - see how they get on. Would be interested in seeing how far it takes to actually start seeing Dolly tired!!! The record so far was 7 miles, and 2/3 hours of a farm ride, and still not tired - actually jogging and snorting!!!! I walked the 7 miles and was definately NOT jogging and snorting. Actually, I was asking for an air ambulance!!!! Not even joking!!!!

Going out playing ponies tomorrow (not a show or anything, just stables!) - can't wait :D

***toddles off to look at you riding pony on facebook***
