My nerves are getting worse as the jumps are getting bigger i tell you watching her jump 1.05m at PC actually made me nearly wee:D:eek:
But new pony is wonderfull so well behaved yet talented and a bargain too!!!

Ah no if they dont want to move on then why, my friend still has her 13.2 pony whos 24 (the pony) and competes her in veteran classes my friend is 30 with her own kiddie now, evetually pony will retire to her mums house were she has a collection of rescue ponies;)

Sometimes getting a new one cant be helped, I didnt own Hokey and she wanted to sell and wanted alot of money for him which realistacly was silly for me to pay out money i didnt really have when L had outgrown him, if i had owned him i would have probaly kept him longer, but all situations are different MR will be able to ride Dolly well into adulthood i expect.:)

New pony sounds the business :D Go L!!!!! Daughter's popping about 1m ish now, giving me the heebies!! She's actually happier jumping that height as Dolly (touch wood) concentrates much more and rarely stops or does anything silly. When jumping lower she can get faster and faster and stronger and then start the odd dodge to the side! Strange these ponies!!! ;)

I've said when she does get another bigger pony one day, I'm going to show Dolly in hand (probably veteran by then - both of us! :p)!!!!! I'll get a hat and cane and everything :D

I do miss you having Hokey though. He was a one off. :(

Thanks, he taught me a lot! I was very determined not to fall off that day!

It is a small world! I'll be looking out for daughter and Dolly on the bridles now! :D

You must say hi if you see them!!!

You did awesome that day and have nothing to regret. Some of the best riding that day! (think daughter came either 5th or 6th in the juniors :D)

:D

I'm so glad you posted again, I've been looking out for an update and I love reading about your daughter and Dolly. They look fantastic together and it's lovely to hear how well you are all doing. I don't know if you remember but I think last time I posted I said I was looking for a pony for my daughters. Well, we have found one and have had him nearly 3 weeks now so it's all very new for us. I am a bit of a nervous wreck watching them ride him and just want to be over the new period. Please keep your post coming - it really gives me hope that my kids can be out there enjoying themselves at shows etc soon. :)

Yer its scary when there doing bigger isnt it sometimes i think it looks wrong!LOL
Yer agree about them been better over bigger when L went to her first show on Star she galloped round the ring cleared them all, i was screaming slow down from the edge!! But once there a bit bigger daughters a bit more serious and pony has more to concentrate and i think it teaches them to ride inbetween the fences more aswell as they cant just point and hope for the best like the smaller ones!!

Hehe can imagine you doing in hand!!!:) Thing is its easy to find small riders to ride ponies L has 2 extra shes riding at the minute as they dont have jockeys so im sure youd always find a rider if MR grew to tall.

Yer we miss Hokey alot too he really was a pony of a lifetime so hard to find but i helped find him a fantastic home for the eldest child and there was 2 younger kids that were really small that he would be eventually for so he will be with them for a long time. Daughter owes all her confidence to him though wouldnt be where she is if it wasnt for him!!:)

Thank you very much! Daughter did really well to get placed, there was some stiff competition!

Can not beleave its 2 years. You have been my normal pony fix over this time, my children no longer ride and re live our PC through your expliots. Keep having fun.

Can't believe it's been two years!!! Not sure if I've ever replied to your posts but have really enjoyed reading them and am looking forward to more!
Your daughter and Dolly have both come on so much and look great tigether, well done to all of you😄😄😄

I can't believe it's been two years
It's so nice to see an update and see how well they are doing. MiniRM always looks so happy. I hope she's proud of herself for sticking with dolly and well done to you for not giving up I know how worried you were about it all, but just look at them now. The perfect team (I'm glad I don't live near you and compeat at the same venues ;) :p :D :D ) YAY for the clear rounds in jumping. Thats what I always aim for, a double clear, a placing is a bonus, esp with my terrable riding. How Herbs and I got 3rd on Sunday I'll never know. He deff gets ALL the credit ;)
Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next update of all those places you are NOT going to take them ;) :p :D :D

Happy anniversary xx :D :D

WOW what a difference!! 2 years?! absolute madness!!

I cannot believe how much mini RM has sprouted! !!

Here is to many more years of fun together :D

Another who can't believe its been 2 years! Such a lovely update, they look so good together. I wouldn't worry about her out growing Dolly just yet, my daughter rode her 12.3/13 hh pony until she was 14, the stirrups were somewhat jockey like by the end.:p The pony is still here in the field at 24.:D

She hasn't yet redmone, I will add her!

I do remember (but couldn't remember your username!) - it's so tough in those first weeks isn't it!!! pm me if you want a chat!!!

Oh they look spot on together in that bottom pic! Dolly sounds such a wonderful schoolmistress!

Thank you!!!! Well I always think of schoolmistresses being predictable, perfect and forgiving, so I'm not sure I'd call her that!! She does teach daughter a lot though!!! :p

It was a tough comp wasn't it!!! I think we just scraped into the placings!!! She was very pleased with her result, especially as Dolly didn't spook at the nasty red block (which set quite a few off!!!) :-)

Sounds good!!! It's handy Dolly is a chunk - I think she'll be fine on her!

DOLLY! She's a cracker! Well done your little girl, too. She's always knuckled down and learned how to handle that little mare :)

Thank you!!! I think Dolly has learnt how to handle us too!!!!

Congratulations!!!

I love "Daughter and Dolly" posts.

Haribos and Lambrini -right up my street! :D

Glad I'm not the only cheap date out there! ;) Thanks ! x

Wonderful, wonderful photo's.

Happy child, happy pony. Just perfect!!!!

Thank you Amymay! Another person who's been with us all the way! :D

Hello
I find your posts really inspirational. I think you and your little girl are a testament of how you can achieve success through hard work and asking the right questions of the right peopls - plus sheer determination.

It's so nice to see her doing so well as I remember your posts in the early days and what a steep learning curve it was.

If I ever do manage to get my own, and find myself having problems, I will think of you and how you worked through it all in such a sensible and practical manner and be inspired! :)

Hmmmm tempting!! Are you sure you can handle our little 12.2hh fireball though??? :p;):D Don't want to overhorse you now!!! :D

No, by the way!!!

More PC stuff definately next year. Daughter is moving schools (her primary school was too far for me to be able to get her to the PC evening rallys) so from September she might be able to do branch PC (currently is a centre member just for holidays) and yes, PC camp will most likely be on the agenda.

***sigh***

:D

She is looking great. You can't knock D's confidence, which is great - Dolly would have put many other riders off!

Glad to hear you may make pc next year - you really haven't missed much, its all been rained off this year anyway!!

Are you doing the Family Horse show this weekend? I'm away, unfortunately - but my handy pony course will be there!!

Thank you so much, such kind words!!!

It was a steep learning curve, but I was also a bit of a worrier!!!!! So glad we persevered though!

:D

Hi Honey08!!!!

Thank you!!!

Yep, we're off to the family horse show tomorrow (fingers crossed for the weather)!!! Really looking forward to it, but shame you won't be there, was hoping to say hi! We'll see about the handy pony course though!! After further attempts, we've decided Dolly isn't the handiest of ponies!:cool:;) Mind you, it's all a bit of fun isn't it.......:D

Getting her to "real" PC would be great, especially now we've got the box and she's changing schools. That was the main obstacle. I'm busy orchastrating changes to her "lessons" so that Tuesday nights are free.....but you're right, not much missed this year!!!

I'm really proud of daughter, she's really persevered!!! And it's all been worth it. We've had such a lovely year with Dolly, just wish the weather hadn't sabotaged a few days out we had planned!!!!

Speak soon! And thank you! :D
