Hi everyone!!!!
As promised, thought I'd update you after our riding school's big show on Bank Holiday Monday! Some of you might remember my "hoof polish" meltdown on Sunday, but despite my neurotic rantings, Dolly looked amazing at the show! And behaved amazing too. So proud of my girls!!!
They came away with x2 firsts (for highest placed livery) a 2nd and a 4th. Also got a medal and a trophy, which was lovely
Now the past x2 years, Daughter has fallen off in the jumping classes at the show! Almost like it was jinxed! She was sooo determined this year to stay on and break the curse!
They went clear in the novice jumping, then went on to do rider and groom (where the rider jumps against the clock, then the groom jumps on foot a shortened course) and went clear in that too. Daughter didn't break any speed records in the jumping (and so sadly they weren't placed
) but they were so pleased to get round and go clear, it didn't matter to us. We're just working on getting Dolly going clear at the moment - she hardly ever has poles down but does put in a few too many dirty stops so we've been told to focus on building up their confidence for now, and let the speed come later.
Anyway, despite the weather, it was a lovely day and daughter was very very happy with her results. Dolly was happy with her BIG apple!
Also, they went to a small jumping competition on Saturday, and had x2 clear rounds and went clear in the 65cm class (but then picked up 4 faults for turning a circle when Dolly felt she knew the course better than daughter did!
) was unlucky, but all experience - bet daughter doesn't let that happen again!!!
So it's ALLLLLLL goooood!!! Have a massive amount of love for this pony that I was so unsure about. And no regrets at all. And daughter is ok too
Thanks for reading everyone, I've got swizzles lollies, parmaviolets and love hearts as a treat for you today!!!
And here's some photos too....
chilling out before the jumping
clear rounds
BIG show prizes
