Dead lorry!

Our old horse lorry has sadly had to be PTS due to complete lack of enthusiasm on it's part - perhaps arrival of new lorry was a step too far and pushed her over the edge (unfortunately not literally).
Where does one dispose of 7.5 tonnes of elderley unreliable mercedes which is not going to trundle far? Thought about advertising it as spares / repairs but think it's unlikely to appeal to anyone as a project due to it's age and distinct lack of beauty. Does anyone know where they can get (*whisper*) scrapped - with hopefully a few pennies as a reward for getting it there? (...It has 2 new tyres...!!!)
Almost tempted to push it into paddock and convert to holiday lets as per daily mail article a few months ago - at least we have nice views :redface3:

What type of partitions and ramp gates does it have? I may be looking to replace mine.....

Advertise it fb, preloved or similar maybe tack shops as a non runner spares or a project - someone will be interested you could even break it down yourself if you have the interest & time - sell all sellable parts & then weigh it in xx

If you look in the horse box section of Horse and Hound magazine there are always 1 or 2 lorry dealers looking to buy old lorries. I got about £500 for mine - it did run, but had no plating, and it was bought for spares.

Thanks everyone - may be worth a try advertising it then, I suppose we have nothing to lose! Will have a look through H&H too and see what I can find.
3Beasties - Nothing to get excited about unfortunately - the partitions are very solid / strong metal & wood ones with no padding - one full length, one just a standard partition. The ramp gates aren't very exciting either, just plain wooden doors! x

Seriously, prices for scrap metal are quite good at the moment. My old chain harrows, without the stretcher bar, got me £60 the other day.

Your local scrap dealer will probably collect but you'll get more if you take it in. Don't forget your bank details as they may not pay cash. Yellow Pages?
