Dealing with boots (horse) in this weather and turnout boot recommendations.

Looking for some advice from you clever people on here. This is my first year with a horse that wears boots when ridden (all round plus overreach). Our school is black rubber and sand, fab surface but messy. Any nifty ideas to deal with wet manky boots, what space having contraptions do you have rigged up to dry them, will they ever dry!? 😣🤣

Secondly, any recommendations for turnout boots, our field gets a bit muddy and madam can have quite sensitive skin so I don't want to be hosing or anything all the time. Any that are good value for money and hard wearing?

Wet manky boots - avoid neoprene lined!
The 2 makes I like are NEW orthopaedic foam lined ones and equilibrium - quick hose down and drip dry.

Can’t help on field boots, it’s one thing I generally think causes more problems than they solve. At most cheap rubber OR boots for a serial shoe puller.
 
I have had good results with the equilibrium turnout boots. the ones that are made of the stretch & flex bobbly stuff. you have to get the sizing just right so they are tight over the hoof and heel bulbs but they keep even wet sloppy mud out. I agree that you need to keep them absolutely clean and dry inside for them to be any use otherwise you are inviting more problems, I have 2 sets so one is always clean and ready to go on, when I need them.

I take them home to dry :)

( I only tend to use them for keeping socks clean on show or lesson days now but previously used them daily for a horse prone to mud fever)
 
I saw a clever idea where someone had bought sticky back Velcro and cut into squares then stuck on a white board on the wall. (It won’t stick directly onto stone) then hosed and stuck them up.
 
When we used boots religiously we actually found that polo bandages were the best at keeping sand etc away from the skin.

Afterwards they went home for a quickwash in the machine and dry on a radiator ready for next day. Or, have a few days worth of bandages and wash the lot at once.

Unless it was very wet, I found that the fronts could be re-used on the backs the next day as they did not seem to get wet, so only 2 fresh ones a day. They are so easy an quick to wash though that washing each time is not really a trial.
 
I found the Premier Equine Air Teque turnout boots have been fantastic. Just about to go into their 3rd winter and still going strong!
Granted they are just over £60 for all four but in my opinion they are well worth the money! Kept the legs dry, clean and provide brilliant support!! They are so easy to clean - just hose them off, give them a scrub and hang them to dry and they are as good as new! 5* from me for sure! My 16hh warmblood wears medium all round.
