How's that for alliteration? Lol
So I've owned her for just over 3 weeks now and thought it was time for an outing to see how she behaves away from home.
I wasn't sure whether she would even box up ok, would she be hot/lazy when we got there, would she go through the tiny door into the indoor school and given how unbalanced she is would I be able to keep her within the white boards lol!
The day didn't start well when I couldn't get the lorry to start. It sounded like the battery was flat despite the fact I have an isolator on it ??? Anyway had pretty much got into a grouch and given up when thought I'd give it one last try and it burst into life! So just left it running while I got Dee ready so the battery would charge.
So all scrubbed up with plaited mane and tail and we were ready to go!

Not the best piccie of her but the best I could get!
She loaded and travelled fine so tacked up and headed to the warm up!
She was totally unphased by the whole thing even though I don't think she's been to many shows before.
The first test was prelim 4. I concentrated on getting her long and low as when she is in this frame she remains straight and rhythmical. She's not totally fit and certainly not strong in her frame as yet but we are getting there!
Anyway she did a lovely test for 61.8% and the comments were that the frame was too long which I was happy with as that was deliberate on my part.
The second test was a bit of a disaster. The venue was running about 25 mins late by this point and she felt a little tense when we went back in. She still did an obedient test but when she is tense she goes a bit overbent and then we lose the straightness and she "sticks" a bit. So we only managed 57% in that test which I was disappointed with but think was probably fair given the way things went.
But I'm still very pleased with her and think it wasn't a bad start, seeing as we are still getting to know one another and have so much to work on!
Am toying with a tiny show jumping outing next time!
