Has anyone got a rug from Derby house before?

I have just received a fly rug from them, as I'm a poor student, I had to go for a cheapish one, but It looks amazing, it came with a free fly mask too, which I wasn't expection and fits over their ears as well! so now all I need to do is wait for the blimmin sun to come back out so I can try it out! haha

yes, just bought a fly rug for my boy,and it doesnt fit! so trying to sell it now as it was a 7ft so they dont go any bigger! :(

i agree tho the rugs are gorgeous :)

oh no thats a shame, do they come up quite small then? I just looked at it and it looks massive? I bought a 6'3 and he's not quite that big yet but he will be soon, he's between 6foot and 6'3 at the mo!

We've got various turnout/stable/fly rugs from DH. Love them all & they've lasted really well! :)

oh brilliant thanks, I tried to order a turnout from them in Feb when I got my baby and they forgot to post it, so I had to go to my worst shop, Robinsons, gerr! but thats good to know, as I need to get both horses light weights for next winter so I will see if I can get a couple from them again! :)

The fly rugs do look good but I wouldn't buy a T/O from them again, I'd rather pay a bit extra and get a something else, the lightweight one I bought last Winter was fairly useless in the rain!

Customer service and delivery is crap but I've found the rugs themselves very good. The lightweight rugs have never leaked.

yes I found this in Feb but I order the fly rug via amazon last thursday and it arrived today, so very impressed, was the same price as ordering direct but seemed to be a better delivery, so might do that when I order some light weights :)

I had the DH Fly rug for Herbs. I loved it. :) The Hat was way to big for herbs though but it did fit Merryn :D I can't use the full neck turnouts on Herbs as they rub his mane out :( But I have a fleace and a normal turnout rug for him and they are great to. The buckles on the leg straps do break though as they are only cheep :( But I have loads of spare leg straps with stronger clips so i'm not that bothered about that. Just check them often. :D

yea seem to, altho having said that new boy is a bit on the chunky side at the mo, he usually takes a 6'9 so ordered a 7' and the belly straps did up on the velcro all about a centermeter, and the chest strap didnt do up without being pulled, think if he breathed out it would all ping open! lol! the neck was a nice fit as was the mask :)

I have the DH HW and MW turnouts for both mine (one welsh D and one ID). They have both lasted really well and I would buy them again

I only have one DH rug - mediumweight standard neck, and have been so impressed with it! Fits my boy perfectly, and is extremely waterproof. Really like the fastenings too (great in cold weather!) Very happy, would definitely buy another.

I have the 100g turnouts. The arrived really quickly and they've been brill. Really wasn't expecting them to be water proof for 30 quid but they've been ace in all this rain. Fit both my skinny TB and my big shouldered one equally well somehow too

I have one of their medium weight full neck turnouts and i think it's great! so waterproof and a great fit for my horse who i struggle to get rugs to fit properly, and the neck cover part it just the perfect fit :) thumbs up from me!

I've got a DH HW combo and its been fine - does come up a little on the small size though...
Cant complain at the cost of them either! Very reasonable!

I have eight DH rugs and love them all. However, I would steer clear of the sport fly rugs as they are cut wrong around the neck. One of my livery clients ordered one and despite ordering a 6' 9" when her horse is normally a 6' 6", it is far too tight around the neck. Apparently they have had loads of returns! So OP be very careful when trying it on as I suspect you may need to return it.

I find their sizing in the TO rugs to be small and always order a size larger. Same with the lightweight stable rugs. But with the heavyweight stable rugs with neck, the sizing is spot on.

i have a selection of there rugs! i cannot fault the fly rug as it is now over a year old and just has two little holes in the side (my big boy trashes rugs so this is good for him) my friend even converted from an amigo fly rug to derby house after seeing mine! i also have a few of there fleeces one of which is three years old and still going strong! however i would steer clear of the turnouts as anytime i have used one...i have come down a few hours later to a very soggy horse! ive tried combo turnouts, standard turnouts and from different years and none of them have been any good for me! which is a shame as i do think there patterns are lovely! :L

i managed to get my derby house rugs in 7'3" last year. Unless they have stopped making them this big as i havent brought anything from them this year.

Another vote for Derby House.
Ordered my lightweight on the Thursday, it arrived the following day.
Didnt expect quality to be great, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
My mare is a bit awkward to fit rugs to, but the DH rug fits perfectly.
And DH have got a fab sale going on at the moment.

Yes I love them! Swapped from Amigo's and never looked back. I buy them in the sales and never bought one for more than £35. I have almost all the turnouts, 100g, medium and heavyweight and the flug rugs. I do find they tear a little easier as they are 600d instead of 1200d but I have red patches for that. Generally very impressed and fit my chunky connie x perfectly.

The navy blue heritage ones are 1200 D. I have the lightweights for both my horses and they stay dry and they don't tear even though my boy is always biting my girl's. I also have the medium and heavyweight heritage and the medium/light in the sport (red 600D).

I only use DH rugs. Mine have lasted 2 1/2 years now and though the lightweights now need reproofing/replacing as they have had almost continuous use including more recently been used to stop an extreemly itchy mare from doing any more damage to her skin. They have also taken a lot of abuse from my youngster.

I refuse to buy expensive rugs for mine preferring to spend less and then not be too bothered if they ruin them (which they haven't yet). The lightweights always hold out for a good few hours so as long as you swap rugs a couple of times a day they have been fine but in heavy rain I would usually use a m/w as they hold up longer

The honest answer is that I cannot abide Derby House! Shocking customer service and the rugs we've had from them have completely fallen to bits... one broke within less than 24 hours and then the replacement, which took about 5 weeks for them to send, did the same (and we've had no other problems with rugs lasting).

Glad to hear that others have had better luck though! For a while their reputation was looking pretty iffy.

Never had one last more than 1 winter! Find the leg straps get ripped off from inside and pull the lining out. keep getting tempted by the fab offers but just brought an amigo to see how that fares! Glad others found them better, think i own a rug monster!! :)

I have the sports rugs on both of mine and have the opposite problem so if yours were bought last year problem has been solved :)

Fab rugs have about 10 of them those and wetherbeeta are the only ones I will use :)
