My scottie has never had her dew claws cut in fact she has never had her claws cut as we do plenty of road walking. The question I have is this.

Her dew claws are a little sharp but not digging into her. Should I ask when she goes for her haircut next week if the lady can trim them or should I just leave them alone as they must somehow be wearing down?

Thanks

yes i would treat them like a normal nails..dew claws dont touch the floor while shes walking where the other nails do which keep them trim

my dogs had them taken off when they were pups

thats what I thought Haycroft but they dont seem to be growing much. Thanks

Katielou maybe its because she holds her bones that helps wear them down.
