I have put a poll on for the facebook peoples, but thought you lots are very knowledgeable so must be able to advise?

Which is worse, doing:

- 3 x four time changes and 3 x three time changes
or
- 5 x four time changes????

Topaz dare I mention is going to do her next advanced next weekend, and I cannot decide between A102 or A105?

Pirouette work is not a bother apparently, but tempi's have been more tricky, though a double has resulted in a breakthrough... So is doing 5 x 4 slightly better as only one set of tempi's to cock up?

if you think you might make a mistake then only having one line to do is safer :p but when all is said and done it's only one movement and if you at least get some of them the score can't be TOO terrible for that one movement :) so I'd pick the test that suits best overall and not worry too much :)

ETA gutted, just went to Out and About Dressage to refresh my memory of what's in the tests and it's become subscription only :( :( was SUCH a fabulous resource I can understand why but just can't stretch to pay for ANOTHER thing.

That's my thinking, but then thinking am I being daft thinking the harder test is easier? Then I thought am I over thinking which test to do :o...

Boo hate when suddenly you are charged for things!!

I agree with MP. Though I think she managed to cannily not give you an answer.

Pick the 'harder' one. Then if it goes tits up do the other one next time

 sneaky MP ;)

I think that's what made me doubt myself, it's the 'harder' one therefore I 'should' do the easier one....

But isn't that the whole reason for having, um, special dressage horses? It makes backwards seem like the new forwards....

Harder or easier is irrelevant, pick the one that suits your horse the best. Inter1 is harder than PSG, but the Inter1 rides so much better, likewise Medium tests ride better than Elementary tests, so forget all that stuff and do whats best for you and your horse.

5 fours, am I thinking of the right test that for the 102 that there's 2 sets of temp is and then a diagonal in canter with no changes? If that's the case even more reason to do 105, cos "ooh tempis, yay" then "ooh 3 threes even better" leads to "ooh another diagonal, must be 2s now"

Completely agree and this is kind of where I was going with by hedge betting answer too!

Either way you have to face both 3s and 4s at PSG, so.... can't hide from It forever :D

Thank you all, I was over-thinking and yes 105 should suit her better!

Trainer can def advise but I don't see them again until the week after the second advanced, and she hasn't seen us in a double... Dam house move has scuppered lots of plans!!!

Right I think I've deceided :eek3:
